Btw as reported before the league name is based on the survey right? I wonder when the survey was done if both Philippines FL and Philippine FL was mentioned as options to choose from? As far as I know it was never revealed what were the options? Or there was none and the surveyed people are the ones who tell the surveyors what they prefer? Just asking for enlightenment. Thanks.

Never saw the survey. That's my point. Btw here is one of the articles stating that Nielsen conducted the survey. It means the PFF really spelled it with "s" as listed among the choices. sports.tv5.com.ph/sports5/article/with-pff-backing-national-pro-football-league-set-to-debut-in-2017

Thanks admin for creating a new subject for this matter. Anyway I have to be honest, I am not expert in english grammar. However, there is no need to be gramatically correct since PFL is not a sentence. A sentence needs a subject and a verb or that so called predicate. So, in this case I will still choose Philippines.

I got one vote already. hahaha Don't worry. There is a reason I set the end of the poll until May 31. Maybe folks will get used to the new spelling by then and change their vote.

I am confuse, the PFF called the league as the "Philippines Football League". Then somebody decided to call this PFL discussion forum as "Philippine Football League", and now we are all debating about it, i.e. whether a noun could be an adjective or vice versa. Come on guys, there will be a lot more things to worry about this new PFL, whether it will be a success or NOT. Even Jack Biantan is worried on whether the PFF could properly manage this league to make it a success. I still believe that all the owners should put aside some funds to create a league commissioner (and marketing team) to be totally responsible for the success of the league by managing the promotion, stadium development, fan base creations, etc, etc. Things the PFF is NOT capable of doing. A small contribution from all the owners should be able to protect their main investments, i.e. like an insurance policy.
As for me, PFL means Pinoy Football league.

You don't have to participate in this thread or poll. It is purely optional. Feel free to head on to the other threads if you want to. Polls happen here once in awhile. It is a good way to gauge the feelings of the community and occurs a lot in the social(facebook and twitter) as well as with regular news media. But if you don't want to participate with community activities, that is fine as well. Nobody is forcing you. As you can see, it has attracted quite of a bit of response among our members, and a lot of regulars have had their say on the issue. That is the ultimate judge after all, of whether a topic is relevant or not in this forum. For someone who doesn't want to participate though, you sure have very strong convictions on the subject. You remind me of some folks I know who refuse to vote in elections and then complain later when they don't agree with the officials that get elected into office. I happen to agree with your commissioner idea though, someone with a marketing and business administration background. That is normally what they have here with sports leagues in the US. Even the UFL had a commissioner, Bonnie Ladrido, and they have shown a better job of organizing, marketing or running a league than the PFF has shown so far, not only with the PFL but also in the disastrous Suzuki Cup hosting. Nevertheless the fact that the PFF have sought help from FIFA, the AFC and even hired a Singaporean agency to help market the new league must be commended. They have ambitious goals and inspite having other commitments and responsibilities (national teams, starting a woman's league and grassroots development), they were able to pull this off in the end. Despite the rocky start, from the interest I have seen so far in the provinces, I am cautiously optimistic that this league will succeed in the long term. But that is a topic for the PFL 2017 season, where you can head to.

IMO, I don't see the point in having this poll. If we go by how other countries name their leagues, there is nothing wrong with "Philippines Football League" although some may prefer "Philippine Football League". I believe PFF has already considered the points raised here before they finalised the league name and I don't think the PFF will change it. Personally, I don't have problem with the name.

The next poll should be - which team has the nicest/worst logo?

Well now that the Philippines Football League is officially dead, we can now look forward to seeing the new top flight league in the Philippines, the Philippine Premier League spelled correctly. (-:

We should have 3 seperate leagues equal to each other. Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao League. 4 team playoff by the end of each season with each respective #1 and best 2nd place or wild card. Minimize logistical nightmare.
