I don't know how Tajikistan matched up against China but if we play the same way against China earlier against Tajikistan. Azkals will definitely have a difficult game to win. A lot of holes on Defense we need Gier back, the defense looks dis-organized and Deyto not really commanding his area.. hopefully Coach Dooley pull-off some tricks of his sleeves against Tajikistan..
5 October 2016 Friendly Tajikistan 3 – 3 Palestine 9 November 2016 Friendly Tajikistan 3 – 0 Turkmenistan 13 November 2016 Friendly Tajikistan 1 – 0 Afghanistan 24 March 2017 Friendly Bahrain 1 – 1 Tajikistan 28 March 2017-2019 ACQ Yemen 2 – 1 Tajikistan
Definitely not a weak squad..

Can anybody find a positive take away from this friendly? It looks like they went to China and every Azkal player ate "lugaw" for lunch.

we got ass-raped in that match. I didn't bother to finish the game China scored its 4th goal of the match.

Biggest loss ever 8-1. I can accept it if its 3-1,4-1 or even 5-1, but damn, losing 8-1 in a friendly? If I were Dooley I will resign if I lose the game against Tajikistan. The team went stagnant. As if we still have the hangover of the 3-2 win over Nokor.

They're not a weak squad, yes. They're just like a bit slower version of the Uzbeks. Fact about the Tajikistan squad is that they like set-pieces. Saw their games against Palestine. They managed to score 3 from free-kicks and those weren't because Palestine's defence is weak. The Tajiks are also good in the air.

They are deadly at set pieces and can score goals on headers against with what our defense looks like last night. And Deyto is good but he's not communicating and commanding the back line. It's disappointing.

This is a important tune up game for the match against Tajikistan. I hope we can avoid unnecessary injuries. As for our GK issue, Deyto should step up his game and prove us all wrong. So much for the unnecessary injuries... James and Sato subbed off early which looked like injuries. And Misagh looks like will be out for a long time... I know man..I was really hoping Misagh could get away unscathed because we need him in the next game. This friendly literally did more harm than good.

Can anybody find a positive take away from this friendly? It looks like they went to China and every Azkal player ate "lugaw" for lunch. The only positive that I've seen is that PFF did not disappoint us by actually moving through with an international friendly and not rescheduling or postponing it. That or the fact that Dooley displays such optimism on the team that he utilised an attacking formation against a Chinese side who twice scared the hell out of South Korea's defence.

The positive -- it's a reminder of where we are with the program. Not everything is rosy and the fact that we're first or second in the FIFA ranking in the ASEAN region doesn't mean much beyond the region. I hope the players and management take this as extra motivation to improve even more. It is disappointing, but it's also a reality check. The long term goal must be to improve even more and to have the support structure to make it happen.

Indonesia, malaysian, Thai, vietnam and other Asean based fans are making fun of our 1-8 loss to China. Coach TD needs to pull something good against Tajikistan or its a goodbye to him. Still cant comprehend that big margin loss to China. Wow, this type of loss just squeezes the morale out of a player.
