i agree we have a quality keeper na.. if ever lalaro c Areola and magiging #1 keeper natin, do you think Etheridge will be happy about it? unhappy camp labas nyan.
i think we need a quality CB and Striker/attacking midfielder. if wla c patino wala tayo quality striker. Phil is no longer a threat as a striker. he is useful as a midfield na.

I am surprised that the AFC did not reward those who made the "Double Hex" with the first two pots. Making this straight up by FIFA ranking makes this easier for the Azkals. As for those who thought it was dumb to play in Taiwan's tournament should shut up and thank their lucky stars. Pot 4 is LOADED with minefields. Did you REALLY want the Azkals to play Bahrain? Yemen? Jordan or Thailand? With the right group, the Azkals could make a nice run to the Sweet Sixteen. Now, the Azkals have a shot to play India, Kyrgyzstan and Palestine. My dream group would be South Korea, Kyrgyzstan, and India. The Azkals could very easily go second in this group. That will do a lot for Philippine soccer if they go to the Sweet Sixteen. Go to the Elite Eight, you will see attitudes change regarding soccer in the Philippines.

How did the pots are made? Pots 1 and 2 (based on ranking / performance of Round 3 of FIFA WC Qualifiers) Pots 3 and 4 (based on FIFA rankings) You may now start create your dream group Hope we'll go well with our group. We need intensive training and friendlies with strong opponents. Not sure if we'll have a new coach or PFF retains Coach Dooley.

I know this is too early folks, but do you think we can field our best Azkals squad in the Asian Cup? And who are the players you wanted to be included in the final squad?

Etheridge Patino Ott, Manny Ramsay Younghusband, Phil Sato Aguinaldo (hopefully he is not just fit but on peak form by that time)

I want to see Amin Nazari, Holtmann, and Nyholm in the final list. Raphael Obermair and Harry Foll should prove themselves in the buildup (friendlies, AFF Cup, etc.) leading to the Asian Cup.

The Philippines draws South Korea, China, and Kyrgyz Republic in our group. Good group. PYH was asked last night before the draw which team he wants to be grouped with. He wants World Cup quality team if ever. Nagkatotoo nga. There's a chance we can advance to the KO stages as one of the four best third placers given we don't concede that much and win against Kyrgyzstan.

China shredded the Azkals the last they met, and that was a Friendly. South Korea is not one for choking, either. It is probably going to be 3 and out for the Azkals. Just hope they don't give up a truckload of goals.
