;Dlike whom bro? anyways , why can't we stop calling some of them fil-fors,foreigners, etc. why not plain azkals! period.... ;D Agree! Or foreign-based Azkals if a distinction needs to be made with the home-based Azkals. I agree as well. That puts the Younghusbands in a gray area though, as most new fans consider them foreign when they actually are currently locally-based. But yaddayaddayadda in just doesn't matter in the grand scheme of things.

Anton del Rosario and Aly Borromeo both have Filipino parents but both were born and grew up in the United States.

You're reading too much into that "glamour life" statement and the fact that Vincent didn't know about the Azkals until recently. Ilan lang ba ang nakakakilala sa Azkals bago December last year? "Glamour life" could have be just another expression that we here aren't used to. You're making mountains out of molehills, as the expression goes.

"Glamour life" could have be just another expression that we here aren't used to. You're making mountains out of molehills, as the expression goes. yes nobody heard of the azkals before december. he obviously was talking about the azkals now. that means wala siyang pakialam sa bansa natin kasi hindi nakikibalita dahil masarap na buhay niya ika nga glamour life. the azkals are the buzz right now and he's saying he's never heard of them. everybody hates bandwagoning fans, but phl football needs them in order for this sport to grow in our country. but everyone hates more a bandwagoning player, claiming to be pinoy when all he can show is pinoy blood. what i mean is, let the masa read that article and i'm sure they will sense the arrogance. there's even a rift between pinoys here as whether they want local based players only and those who want to include fil-foreigners. many have come to accept the fact that we need these foreign based half-pinoys because they have the edge in experience and training etc. Tapos instead of being accepted by the public eh ganyang arrogance pa ipapakita. Yung pinaghirapan nila phil, james etc to learn the Filipino language, Palami ordering them to learn our National Anthem is a way of them showing that they are indeed pinoys and should be accepted by those who still have their minds close to having foreign-based half-pinoys play our NT. Hirap na nga tanggapin ng karamihan ang mga half-pinoys eh, how much more pag nalaman nila yang pinagsasabi niyang glamour life, never heard of the azkals meaning hindi siya nakikibalita sa pangyayari sa ating bansa? kasi sa mata ng masa, which by the way is the most important thing that phl football needs in order to grow ; for them, being pinoy for those half-pinoys doesn't end by blood alone para matanggap nila na isa rin nga silang pinoy.

As I have mentioned in another thread, I believe he plays as a central defenceman. Our choices are quite limited at that position and it is nice to see that Coach Weiss was able to find a reliable option who is an experienced pro, to use in case Gier and Borromeo are not available or even possibly be a better alternative in the future.

The only thing I regret is we are now only getting some of our best players like Lucena and Mulder who are both 30 at the later stages of their career so we will only benefit from their peak performance in this cycle(2014) of WC qualifying. Hopefully new talents of the same caliber will emerge in the future to replace them in future WC qualifying events.
