Geez, after the MAS-INA match, the Star Sports commentators talked about every team in the semi-finals except the Philippines. They talk as if it all went to plan for Singapore: avoid Thailand, give someone else a chance to knock them off, then if they fail, face the War Elephants in the final. Er, did you guys miss the part where Singapore has to face the Philippines first?! I do hope that they'll get shocked from their early dismissal of the Azkals. It was even worse in the SIN-LAO match, the Star Sports commentators stated out flatly that the PHI is the "easier" opponent in the semis. Of course, I do admit that THA is an impressive team so far but the choice words of these commentators are so condescending to the Azkals. They could have said instead that THA is a "more difficult" opponent so as not to offend the Azkals.

Dapat mag-team up yung dalawang local coaches, the one who seems to be "high" when he's in the studio, and the other who seems to be "loaded" when he's the one on-air.

Ang bagal lang sumagot ni Hans Smit. Low volume pa. The pace of the discussion goes down a couple of notches when it's his turn. oo nga, ang daming dead air. ok lang sana ang mabagal magsalita kung tuloy tuloy, hans smit takes very very long pausesin between his words. akala mo naman he would be saying something very earth shattering, wala lang pala. Agree ayaw kupa nung kinausap niya si coach Weiss, He talks about inuman etc. He is on Live TV OMG! haha Si Coach Weiss kung mapapansin nyo hindi komportable sumagot that time.

I tot Im the only one who noticed it. He may know a lot when it comes to football but TV is not his medium. Boring kausap si Smit, pa FPJ effect pa.hahaha. Mas ok pa si BobG 10 times fold.BobG? this I have to disagree. Pardon me, but the coverage he has done during the Azkals game on S23 was boring. yes he may know alot in football but hearing him talk on live TV is boring. he is so monotonous. and has a very strange tone to his voice.

Wala ata makuhang matino ang AkTV ah. Sino naman yung dalawang unknowns na kasama nung basketball commentator??? They don't look like they have played football at any point in their lives .

I think Jason Webb is doin' okay. I don't know the other guy but that's Coach Ernie Nierras (Malditas) in the middle of the panel. ;D

Ah, the baldie in the middle is the Malditas coach ba? Sorry, I didn't recognize him, I have never watched a Malditas game for real.
May mali na agad sa sinabi niya eh. He said it was better daw that we play the home game first. He doesn't seem to know that the 2nd game is more important and that's why the team with the better record in the group stage gets to have its home game as the 2nd game!

The other guy is Rely San Agustin, play as goalie for the NT during the 98 Tiger Cup. He occasionally commentates for the UFL.

I like the old English dude on the left in the Star Sports coverage. He was critical but not condescending.

Coach Ernie is miles better than Coach Hans in the media panel of AKTV. He is more articulate and projects better than Coach Hans who seems to have just come from a drunken spree.

To this day I haven't watched a single minute of AKTV's coverage except for the part where Coach Hans and the others celebrated the Myanmar win.
Saw the Star Sports coverage of the PHI-SIN match, and yeah the camera work was excellent, even the direction when it came to cutaways and replays was good.
You guys can keep your AKTV/ABS-CBN style coverage, but I do hope at least that our local prods take a huge hint from how the camerawork was done in this match, both for the UFL and future locally hosted matches.
As far as perceived bias in foreign commentary, remember that we're the breakout team, we're the newbies still trying to solidify our ground. Of course we'll always be looked on with some measure of doubt, and that's why the team should push for the good result every single time

Im wondering how you got this observation when AKTV & StarSports share 1 camera/feed. The only difference is the commentator.

I think he's referring to how ABS-CBN and AKTV produce football coverage in general as compared to how things were done last Saturday by whoever it is the AFF has to run its coverage of the Suzuki Cup. Does the AFF have the full match on their site yet?
