U.P. Coach/Azkals MF Anto Gonzales is the 3rd man in the AkTV commentators table. Leisure Suit Hans Bigalow, Male Gigolo came into the booth "loaded", as usual .

Is that the guy who would become the new team mate of Angel Guirado at Salgaocar FC in the IPL? His partner in the panel mentioned it.

His name is John Wilkinson and he will be joining Angel's club in India in mid-January next year. He spoke highly of Angel and said he looks forward to playing alongside him. The panel consider Angel as one of our best players in the team.
Some of the other stuff they said:
Praises for Chieffy and what he can bring into the match. They noted he was exactly what our team needed when he got subbed in for the second half.
Scathing critique of the Younghusband brothers (pre-match at that) who in their collective opinion don't appear to be fully fit and may have even regressed in terms of quality of play. John Wilkinson even mentioned that all the hype surrounding them may have turned their heads a bit from focusing on their fitness and form.
They had good words and a positive assessment of Coach Weiss and what he has been able to achieve in such a short time.
As marselluswallace said, they were pretty spot on with their analysis.

It was a rare opportunity for Carli and Misagh to be with the commentators rather than with the Azkals, and they used that opportunity to display their fashion sense. Carli with the bowtie and Misagh with the scarf over the coat. Natawa lang ako sa itsura nila, lalo na kay Misagh.

Why would you wear a scarf in PH?, the heat is gonna roast you! It's the "in" thing now, isn't it? Anyways, TV studios are actually pretty chilly. That's why we don't see Bob G. sweating under his suit. Should've been an Azkals scarf though.

Here were the attires of our panel last night (from Misagh's twitter): I think Misagh just wants to show off his Iranian half by wearing that scarf on his neck over his suit. The neck scarf is usually called a "kufiya" in Arabic, "chafiyeh" in Farsi (the language in Iran), or "shemagh", "simak" or "gutra" by our Muslim brothers in Mindanao. It's commonplace among men in the Middle East, usually as a protective gear from harsh conditions in the region. But currently it's an "in" fashion thing among young hipsters in London and Asia, especially in Japan, and even among non-Muslim Filipinos. Shemagh scarves are good buys here in Davao. So I don't have a problem with that, really.

Now that Im watching a massive amount of UFL, I must say any of the four announcer on any given UFL match day is much more pleasurable to listen too that Bob G's voice! Cedelf for one gives great insights about the game and tactics being used.

Slightly OT: I watched the Solar Sports broadcast of the Volcanoes match vs HK yesterday. Bob G and Andrew Wolff were on the call. Bob was still on his same giddy play-by-play self. And I'm suprised Andrew used his British accent during the broadcast (he's born in England BTW), although his voice is too boyish for broadcast.
On topic: I wonder if Bob and someone else will call the President's Cup matches next week. Too bad the broadcast would be 1-week delayed.

Thanks to ABS-CBN for the Azkal games on free TV. But why do the producers hire commentators like it was a noon time game show or something? Personality based, thats the only way these guys know how to do it! They should learn to check the network that airs the UFL. Announcers are pleasant to listen too and have voices that doesnt grate. I dont care if they speak in Tagalog or English just not try to step on each other or sound stupid while speaking English. I mean "...the quality control of the pass..." its hilarious but also embarrassing. Look ABS-CBN just because they are veteran national team players, doesnt mean they can commentate on TV!
On the other hand Natasha Alquiroz sounded and did a better job than the previous girl from the first game. Coach H Smit also did better than Chieffy by a mile.

I also give Natasha Alquiros passing marks.
Coach Hans is too biased and too loaded with "tito" jokes for my liking. Chieffy was way too tentative. As for Mariel, I can't quite put my finger on what exactly it is about her that I don't like as a commentator, but we've obviously heard better. Remembering Darren Hartmann, he was too deadpan and "wooden" in his delivery.
How about Bob G and Natasha A for the next broadcast?
