How many subs ? Who did Araneta replace ? Who were on the bench ? Why is it so difficult to get official match info ? I have to search Twitter posts... Easier to get match info from a UFL Div 2 match ! Carli out Gener in Angel out Misagh in Wolf out your favorite Jonny, Ian in I just watched the game over but was sleepy so I didnt get the times. Juani Yellow, JdJ Yellow and someone else?? Angeles was also playing ? Jason de Jong out ?

Why was Lucena not here again? I know his club didn't release him for the Challenge Cup but last night's game was a FIFA match date, so I don't see any reason why he couldn't be here. He could have started as the RB which would make Carli as a reliable sub.

Fiinally got back. I just wanted to comment on the last minute goal allowed by the Philippines. This team needs to be taught how to kill a game. Instead of always going for goal, when you are ahead by a goal with the time winding down, they should employ delaying and keepaway strategies. Have someone send the ball to the opponent's corner and keep it there. Pass it around among themselves or even draw imaginary fouls and lay on the ground a bit. all for the purpose of killing the time. It is inexcusable to allow a goal during injury time, when all we needed to do was use delaying tactics. We don't always have to push forward at every opportunity.
Well after venting my frustrations on the last goal, I would have to commend the team on their excellent play in the first half. Too bad Wolf who was instrumental during their dominant play in that period will be unavailable for the Challenge Cup. I think our chances there will depend upon the availability of Schrock and Cagara.
With the loss of Borromeo, it is fortuitous that Sabio has raised his play to more than makeup for Aly. I would even consider him a better alternative to Gier.

He could have started as the RB which would make Carli as a reliable sub. According to the previous posts here in this thread, Lucena's AGF has been doing their preparations for their return from Superliga winter break. From what I heard, AGF is vying for a Champions League/Europa League qualification spot, so it was possible that Lucena, who is a regular starter, to not be released by the club.

I would even consider him a better alternative to Gier. Reminds me of what the Laos U-23 did during their matchup with the PHI U-23 at the SEA Games. They were overconfident that they had frustrated our U-23s by keeping them off by 2 goals and making confusing tactics against them. Suddenly due to their defense losing bite by injury time, OJ Porteria somehow found that crack in the backline and took that pass to Mark Hartmann. Hartmann, who had open space, passed it to his quicker counterpart upfront who was Joshua Beloya. Beloya just kicked it in fashionably for that equaliser. Laos could not really keep up that extra time to just pass away from them to win against the Philippines, and to no avail, they lost against our team. I also remember the delaying tactics of Chinese Taipei during the last Long Teng Cup, which our match ended goalless. Unnecessary dives, fouling where it shouldn't be, and "faking injury." That should have been the tactics of the Philippine team. The difference? Actually the late Malaysian goal actually started with the foul of Misagh. He did "waste time" which was fine. However, during that free kick. Misagh could not go backward as the ones who should provide cover for that free kick should've been Phil or Ian. But it was Misagh who did that covering to mark out Safee. The ball somehow found Safiq, and outsmarted Sabio. The defensive lapse that ensued lead to that heartbreaking draw.

You should watch the US team kill time. They don't employ faking injuries or drawing fouls as much, but they know how to use keepaway tactics as well as sending balls to the opposing corner and holding it there. It takes experience, but our team should be taught this strategies. Incidentally the US just beat Italy in a friendly 1-0.
With Wolf's absence, I really think they should include Beloya to replace him rather than using Araneta.

PHI could be the luckiest in the ASEAN region being dominant in the match vs Malaysia. 2nd is of course MAS 1-1. The horrible results of other ASEAN nations: THA 0 - OMA 2 SIN 1 - IRQ 7 IDN 0 - BHR 10 Others ASEAN countries didn't have a friendly match today: BRU, CAM, LAO, MYA and VIE LOL Bahrain's match was sooo obviously rigged, especially considering that Indonesia's going under a major corruption war with their FA. They needed 10 goals and got it. I don't understand how a team that loses 0-6 to Iran can grab 10 goals against one of the best SEA teams, who lost 1-4 to them. Good thing Qatar tied their match. Unbelievable...

Yup. Indonesia sent their U-22 team and allowed 4 penalties and now Qatar is lodging a complaint to FIFA about this. Considering Indonesia has a reputation for corruption, it is quite possible something fishy is going on.

stellarboy I think we have hehe. Bat sabi sa FIFA ng IDN fans they only used "U-23" their players used is mostly below 23? Weird Look at their IDN fans comments. Politics destroy their football federation thats one reason That is now their biggest defeat in their history. But their biggest win is against us. Bahrain revenged for us ;D Good thing maunlad na federation natin now This game is a good sign for AFF Suzuki Cup in late this year

too bad carli was reportedly battling a bum stomach (for several days now), otherwise the defense would have held-up til the very end - at least that's what i was hoping is something wrong w/ phil? it seems like he's been playing exhausted even before the first half whistle blew. maybe they've also got to have training camps in high altitudes too to strengthen their resistance. only lexton moy was very much in form when it came to lung power vis-a-vis deliberate play where was the time piece in rms? i only saw one and it conked out pa all in all though, the filipinos made a very decent showing last night. i'm pretty sure they served notice of our competence in the asean football scene
