Jonsson and Sabio are the homegrown players who started the match yesterday. Jonsson was born in cebu and Sabio was born in Manila

one thing i noticed, they're finally using the PFF Logo, i hate to see that azkals logo especially when you're playing a FIFA sanctioned match

Incidentally the US just beat Italy in a friendly 1-0. Fulham's Clint Dempsey scored the winning goal I heard. Too bad I didn't see the game. I was a fan of USA NT waaaayyyy before the Azkals. Why was Lucena not here again? I know his club didn't release him for the Challenge Cup but last night's game was a FIFA match date, so I don't see any reason why he couldn't be here. He could have started as the RB which would make Carli as a reliable sub. According to the previous posts here in this thread, Lucena's AGF has been doing their preparations for their return from Superliga winter break. From what I heard, AGF is vying for a Champions League/Europa League qualification spot, so it was possible that Lucena, who is a regular starter, to not be released by the club. Sorry stellar, there is now way AGF can withhold him from a FIFA friendly date whatever the reason. That is the very reason there is a FIFA friendly date! It think he made a choice himself not to come or maybe PFF thought by not getting him now, AGF might release him for a game or two for the CC? BTW, what was that GIANT paper score sheet all about. With the pitch condition as it was/is the broken time piece and that paper score sheet, I hope this doesnt leave a bad impression with Malaysia.

They had the portable giant screen in RMS as usual but only on one side last night. Yeah someone needs to fix the graphics board and clock there. To me, the pitch looked great. The only particularly damaged part was the areas at the center top of penalty boxes but I don't think it affected play at all what with all the running down the flanks with both teams. I'll talk about concessionaires for once. Powerade had a prominent booth. Smart and San Miguel seemed to have vanished this time. Bibbo hot dogs were on sale in the stands too. But the ones who stood out were the Vitamilk sales ladies who wore skimpy skirts and all.

To me, the pitch looked great. Wow really? You were there so I'll take your word, but in the post game interview, the Malaysian coach pointed to the rough pitch for their inability to play their regular game plan. Reminds me of the Sri Lanka game

Reminds me of the Sri Lanka game i guess the Azkals that play in the UFL had the advantage playing at the RMS during the friendly and somewhat had the upperhand. theyre used to the rough pitch lol

It is the first time in history(total of 11 games) that the US has beaten Italy and they did it in Italy which is extremely difficult to do for any team. We will see if they continue this good form(3 straight victories without giving up a goal in 2012) under Klinsmann in the next few games. Like the Philippines, the US has been increasingly drafting German born and raised players in the national team including two new players, Fabian Johnson and Danny Williams to add to Terence Boyd, Timmy Chandler and Jermaine Jones.

Reminds me of the Sri Lanka game From my point of view, yeah, though that may be because I've seen much much worse. I'd listen to a player and/or coach who actually played on it than my visual estimation. Is there a transcript of the post-match interviews?

There were some Malaysians in my cheap seats section too. It's nice no one bothered them but that might be because they were families with their kids (in official replica kits!) wavig flags and all. And where were these Cobra girls?! They must have did their thing at the grandstand only. :/
