Cambodia had a bad pitch, period. Bumpy, poor drainage. But both teams had to endure it so it was an equalizing aspect of the match. However, it did take the Azkals out of their game but I felt they adjusted well enough. I didn't mind Weiss' subs last time, for a change. Why risk our starters when he had quality subs for a non-crucial match? Wolf even had some good chances. The match in Singapore will be tough as they theoretically have good cohesion. And the Azkals may be tired after the last match in Cambodia. We've got some bright points in individual skill and that's pretty much it. Hoping for a good booster contingent !

I would like to see the same strategy tonight against the Singapore. Maybe put Phil as lone striker in the early periods of the game using a 4-5-1 (not flat mid) and focus more on back line and midfield adjustment depending on how the Lions perform. We have faced this team ac couple of times already and for some reason they are a nut to crack so a damaging counters would put us all in pleasure, let's hope for an agressive activity in the mid too. In the later part put Wolf and Reichelt up in replace of Phil and one, with these two forwards and Mulders and James Y and probably Anton i think there's no way this could go wrong, a late spark formula that will surely surprise the opposite. I don't know, maybe it's just me but i think we can up our chances with this.

Even though some of their players we played before won't play tonight, they're still strong since the new addition to them played together in Lions XII in Malaysia League. They play with cohesion.
Hope they play well tonight

Football: Silver lining for Lions despite injuriesBy Dan Guen Chin, TODAY | Posted: 07 September 2012 0736 hrs SINGAPORE: As if the lines on his forehead are not enough, Singapore national head coach Radojko Avramovic faces injury concerns ahead of Friday night's friendly against the Philippines at the Jurong West Stadium at 7.45pm. Already without the services of LionsXII defender Juma'at Jantan and midfielder Isa Halim, the Serbian now has to make do without forwards Aleksandar Duric and Khairul Amri against a fast-improving Filipino side, whom he considers an important test for the Lions ahead of the ASEAN Football Federation (AFF) Suzuki Cup in November. Amri picked up a groin injury during the LionsXII's 0-1 defeat at PKNS in a Malaysia Cup clash on Tuesday, while Duric suffered an ankle injury during training with his S-League side Tampines Rovers on Wednesday. Despite many of his squad involved in the LionsXII's Malaysia Cup, Avramovic believes it will also have a positive effect on the national side's preparations for the Suzuki Cup. "The LionsXII are still in the fight for the Malaysia Cup and I believe it could distract the national team's preparations," he said. "But as we go along, we will try to find a solution. "I am happy that the LionsXII campaign in the Malaysia Cup will (also) bring about some positive results in that a vast number of the players are also in the national side. "After eight months of playing together, I am sure they will gel as a unit, which will make my job easier." Three-time champions Singapore, who have failed to reach the last four of the Suzuki Cup two years ago, have been drawn in Group B with co-hosts and defending champions Malaysia, Indonesia and another team from the qualifying competition to be held in Yangon from October 5 to 13. Group B matches will be held in Kuala Lumpur. Co-hosts Thailand, Vietnam, the Philippines and a second qualifier make up Group A, which will be based in Bangkok. As Singapore will face Myanmar in another friendly in Yangon on September 11, and could travel to the Philippines for a return match at a later date, Avramovic is unlikely to risk Amri and Duric for Friday night's clash, who were beaten semi-finalists at the 2010 Suzuki Cup. "They have players who are playing in Europe, South America and also the United States," he said. "We need such games and the match against Philippines will provide a good opportunity to gauge where we stand and what we need to do next." But the good news is that attacking midfielder Shahril Ishak has recovered from a flu - it reduced him to a 15-minute substitute appearance in the LionsXII's defeat on Tuesday - and is set to lead the home side upfront. "I missed the friendlies the team played recently because I was out for three months with a shoulder injury," said Shahril. "It would be nice to get a feel of international football again." - TODAY www.channelnewsasia.com/stories/sportsnews/view/1224545/1/.html

we are very vulnerable especially if our defenders will go high to support our offense, a good counter-attacking team will kill us. but i am confident if we have a good CDM, Schrock will be playing tonight so im quite confident with our chances but please.. no more defensive lapses this time. this is my first 11
