I am glad that Mueller might be able to make it to the Suzuki Cup. He has a looked a lot more solid lately than Etheridge. Besides the competition should be good for both of them as long as they keep the perspective that starting is not a given and that the team's goal outweigh any individual players prerogative.

If Schrock cant play for the Suzuki Cup, Angel,Omphroy & Mannt Ott sHould be a good replacement. Ott and Schrock almost play the same. Whats up with Ott? Why is he not on the team?
I also wish Juani Guirado can play, Juani and Gier for our CB? that will be a wall.

I think I remembered reading that Juan Guirado said he plans to participate in the Suzuki cup so he should be an option at center back then.

Whats up with Ott? Why is he not on the team?. Manny Ott was promoted and has become part of the starting XI for his Regionalliga team. Also contrary to popular belief, during FIFA free date not all leagues suspend their play. Lower leagues continue their play such as Ott's Regionalliga, he's got a game tonight. RE: Vimjonk Back in the day, I found myself more on his side of belief and he could be quite intelligent and almost eloquent when he wants to be, but unfortunately like what other has said, he absolutely cannot stomach dissent. When he started to say that he could coach better than Weiss because of his video game, all bets were off! I've read what he posted on other Kellang Roar threads and because of his "hatred" of Weiss, he would rather have the team he originally rooted for, lose to prove his point! It's still Mcmenemy for him. At least he had a semblance of intelligence unlike that one girl bluefeather80 or whatever her name was... I've watched the game twice already and probably watch it all day again, it's incredible how we weathered that early storm by the Lions and crushed their spirit through successful counters. Sure it's about Stephan but I think if we had Juani & Lucena at C/DM we could still be competitive in the Suzuki Cup. Our team does best when we flood the mid. 4-5-1(or variation) is our meal ticket What a great start to the weekend! ADD: I couldn't help but add this, it's from the Singapore fb page! Good game by the Azkals. Shrock was immense, but then again what more could you expect from someone playing in the first tier of one of the most prestigious leagues in the world? Someone from Kallang Roar was saying a guy named Farra (when he was younger) would make Schrock eat grass. Just gives you some idea of the level of football understanding among some of their posters over there lol. Then again, maybe he meant Farra Lemkova... she could make me eat grass lol vimJUNK had this to say after the match - QUOTE LOL What happened to the Lions midfield? They were basically eaten for breakfast by Stephan Schrock And Shi Jiayi is losing composure in front of the goal. And still, the Lions can't find a reliable replacement for Daddy Duric. (comment against vimJUNK)- if you're dreaming then you should wake up now AZKALS just defeated Singapore 2-0 vimJUNK - well, i did not expect that Singapore's midfield would be that cowed by a single player. That game would have opened up if Shi Jiayi did not do an Araneta in front of goal 2 times. kallangroar.com/showthread.php/7150-Singapore-vs-Philippines-7-September/page2

Actually, this does raise a good point. From other news and comments from Schrocky himself, it seems unlikely that he will be available for the Suzuki Cup. We are obviously a different team with him in the lineup. So, come Suzuki time, when Schrock is not available, and the injured Singapore players like Duric are back, how will we overcome Singapore? Would be interesting if the planned second friendly (to be played in the Phils) before the Suzuki Cup becomes a reality... this might be a better indication of results for the cup match. We should surely applaud this historic win but beware future matches will continue to be tough with Singapore. If nothing else, we are continuing to prove to ASEAN teams that we are among the leaders now.

Never a good idea to rely the whole team on 1 player. If shrock wont make it, I hope the Guirado boys, Omphroy, Ott and Cagara can play during the Suzuki CUP, given that the players last night will make it.
ow ow plus Javier Patino too. ;Dhahaha

We are obviously a different team with him in the lineup. So, come Suzuki time, when Schrock is not available, and the injured Singapore players like Duric are back, how will we overcome Singapore? Would be interesting if we could play them later in the year in another friendly before the Suzuki Cup... this would definitely be a better indication of results for the cup match. It'll be difficult indeed! I think if we had Ray at LB, and Juani & Lucena as double midfield stoppers we can physically nullify Duric's deadly aerial work as both players have the height to contest in the air. I wish Aly would be back at CB but even if he is, he'll be rusty so we will have to make do with Gier. If our back 4 along with two DM's(ala Challenge Cup) plays very disciplined, surely Singapore will approach us more cautiously in the Suzuki matchup, they'll be more cautious in attack unlike in the early minutes of last night. Also lets not discount Omphroy & Uy. You never know, they just might pop up soon in the PI. Both are teamless at the moment(Not 100% sure 'bout MU, though). Still this away win speaks volumes for the team more that just Stephan himself, for me, anyway. I hope we don't lose focus on Monday evening!

we have a leg 2 here in Cebu, if Singapore will be having their A team and we beat them here then i must say that we have a shot in the Suzuki cup. plus i am excited with Patino pairing up with Phil upfront. we still have plenty of options even if Schrock won't make it. if the likes of Angel,Juani,Ott,Jonnson,Uy,Omphroy and Cagara will be available in the group stage then we have a depth line-up. speaking about the availability of Muller, i can still remember the time when he said that he will be available in the Challenge cup but his club didn't release him, we were lucky that Fulham released Neil for national duty. so don't expect too much, we might end up disappointed again if his club will not release him in the suzuki cup

Vimjonk's undue hatred towards Weiss and his obsession with McMenemy gave me constant high blood pressure in the past.. I think we're better off as a group without him...

I think although Shrock himself said that it would be unlikely for him to join the squad this coming Suzuki i know he'll do the best to atleast try to negotiate the approval of his club. With all this fad or craze about him Im pretty certain he'd love to represent the country again. And hopefully all our players are affected with the energy and skills Shrock brought to the team and will step it up in the next games! His level is insane and id like our local players to be inspired to work even more. Man are we getting good. Wow!
