- Reichelt seemed lost and made lots of mistakes maybe because he was playing out of position at leftwing.
- I hope we don't go back to relying on long balls too much.
- We lacked speed to match flighty wingers. We can compensate only by closing down the attacker once he gets into the final third.
- We still lack the fine art of time-wasting and keeping the ball whenever we are in the lead. Maybe because we are still unaccustomed to leading in a match going into the last 5-10 minutes.
BTW, who made those crucial passes to Phil & Angel respectively? De Jong & De Murga ba?

- Reichelt seemed lost and made lots of mistakes maybe because he was playing out of position at leftwing. He seems to be well scouted. I think its credit to the MYA player who was marking him. He was able to keep pace with Riechelt. - BTW, who made those crucial passes to Phil & Angel respectively? De Jong & De Murga ba? PYH's goal was off a pass from JDJ and Angel's was an assist from Carli.

Good point on EdSa's distribution xyz. I think there will be a lot of interest out there from other SEA clubs after the performances he has been having in the Suzuki Cup. I would rather see him being signed to a lucrative contract by another UFL club with deep pockets rather than transferring abroad. It will be easier to call him up that way.

was that an assist or a clearance by Carli? it looks like a clearance-long ball to Angel.

The other thing about EdSa is his distribution -- pretty good. I paid particular attention to it this whole game to determine how good he is as an overall GK. Sometimes we forget that bringing the ball up, kicking to the midfield, or passing to the LB or RB is random, but it's not. Congratulations to him too. Let's go Azkals! i observed that too. his goal kicks ang ball clearance to the receivers was just so accurate.

De Jong made the pass, but Phil made the goal. Nice move to the inside. Guirado's goal was a "Oh, What the Hell" boot from the backline. Again, the striker created the goal as Guirado was getting mugged trying to shake off the Myanmar defender. That said, again, Azkals came out like a 14th Century globe. They just cannot keep waiting until the second half before they start playing. The Azkals saving grace was how weak Myanmar and Vietnam really are. Thailand ran roughshod over Vietnam, and the only reason why it was 3-1 and not 8-1 was the War Elephants took the foot off the gas. Hate to say this, but Thailand would have won this group no matter where the games were played. If they keep playing like this, you might as well just hand them the trophy.

stingray, Nah, other teams just need to adopt the Italian catenaccio system. No team in this tournament is invincible. I still think the Azkals still have a chance against Thailand if they get an opportunity to face each other again in the finals. I am a big believer that defence wins championships in any sport(whether it is hockey, basketball, American football or soccer) and if the Philippines can improve even more that aspect of their game they should be okay. Of course I would also consider Thailand as the favorite in any match against a future opponent(especially so since I have a tremendous amount of respect for their coach Schafer) in this tournament, but they are not invincible.
