Was that bold paragraph really necessary? It reeks of guilt-tripping. Might shoo more people away than attract them to the match.

Aff said away goal is worth double. True? The "away goals" rule is used in case of ties. Example: Philippines vs Brazil game 1 in Manila: 0-0 game 2 in Brazil: 1-1 In that case, the Philippines win on aggregate because the Philippines scored more away goals.

@ donsyete - you calling for support for our team is actually inspiring... but of course minus these: This is a rare feat or let say just a start of many good things to come not only for Philippine football but also Philippine Sports. May it be any type of sports, we filipino have learnt to be the most supportive bunch throughout the years such as during Pacquiao's fights, Philippine basketball, bowling or billiards. funny how in football we support international clubs such as Manchester United, Real Madrid, Chelsea, AC Milan and more. but what's more funny than that is how we support other COUNTRIES during the world cup such as Brazil, Spain, England, Italy or France, more than we support our very own football team ---- the Philippine Azkals. Bear in mind that football revival is still in its budding stage. To promote this beautiful sport to our kababayan who are mostly boxing/basketball fans, we should appeal not to their conscience but rather convince them that we, Filipinos, have a massive potential to excel in this game. We should also, as one of the few avid footbal fans in the Philippines, should have the "unwritten pact of responsibility" to educate those who are starting to get curious about this sport. And we should give credible information and never appear like common bandwagoners (hindi porket nakiki-Azkals ka lang tapos kung di mo man lang kabisado ang rules ng football edi mamumukhang bandwagoner or sabay-sa -uso ka lng). And regarding that remark about those who are fans of international clubs: I find no real connection to our National team. National support is totally different in club support. No one can contest someone who will support his country's team over a multi-millionaire club team. Heck, some even of us here are fond of Fullham because of Etheridge (which is even a bench player to start with) or Hoffeinheim because of Shrock.

P2.5 Millions worth of tickets are already sold. Don't know the exact number of tickets sold. The official Tickets (By: Ritchie Gannaban) For those asking about the ticket prices: This is an international competition and rules/ regulations are set by the governing body or competition organizer. As with all competitions, the ticket prices of the semifinals and final matches are priced higher than the group stage matches. Cheapest group stage tickets were sold at 150 pesos (as per report). For the similar semifinal match of Thailand v Malaysia, cheapest tickets are at 270 pesos. (Supachalasai stadium can seat up to 30k as compared to RMS 13k.) From: PHL Azkals FB Page

Just got my "game reservation ticket", was curious why people need to got Pasig City (according to azkalsfootballteam.com/news.php?id=327) to exchange their reservation tickets to the official game ticket. Hindi ba parang masyadong hassle?

Looks like Singapore is well-prepared for the Philippines and they have their players ready while we're still "burning phone lines" to get our starters here. www.mb.com.ph/articles/384223/singapore-eyes-payback-against-azkalsCoach Raddy is really confident and perhaps he should be. He's played against the Azkals a lot and by now probably knows what to do. I find his description of the Philippines' style of play interesting too.

Fingers crossed. Hope that they'll be released Azkals likely to miss 3 key aces in semis opener Published on Tuesday, 04 December 2012 00:00 Written by BONG PEDRALVEZ By A Web design Company Malaya Business News Online - Philippine Business News | Online News Philippines EVEN before returning to Manila shortly after the Philippine Azkals’ successful stint in the AFF Group A tournament in Thailand, German coach Michael Weiss was seen fretting about the availability of three overseas-based players: defenders Dennis Cagara and Jerry Lucena and striker Angel Guirado.Cagara, Guirado and Lucena had to return to their respective clubs after playing pivotal roles in the tourney where the Azkals finished second in the group behind host Thailand and advanced to their second straight semifinals against Group A topnotcher Singapore. The two sides open the home-and-away semifinal series this Saturday at the Rizal Memorial Football Stadium. Lucena, brilliant as a midfield maestro in the National’s pivotal 1-0 win over Vietnam, had to return to action for the the Danish Superliga club Esbjerg and was non-committal about his availability for the semis. Bouncing back from forgettable performances in the 1-2 loss to the War Elephants, Cagara and Guirado were vital cogs in the team’s back-to-back triumphs over Vietnam and Myanmar (2-0), but also had to return to German Third Division club SC Karlsruher and Indian club Salgaocar, respectively. Cagara stood as the defensive demon of a sturdy Azkal backline that closed down Vietnamese striker Le Coc Vinh and Burmese scoring midfielder Kyi Lin. The hardworking Guirado set up Chieffy Caligdong’s winning marker against Vietnam and scored in the victory over Myanmar. Guirado and striker Phil Younghusband, who scored the first goal against Myanmar, have emerged as the team’s one-two scoring punch up front. “We need to have Lucena, Cagara and Guirado back with us because they will play important roles in our match against Singapore,” Weiss said. “They were vital in our success in Thailand.” National team liaison officer Ace Bright yesterday said he talking to Guirado and Cagara last night to find out if they would be available for the semifinals against the Lions. “I will know by tonight (Monday) if they can play on Saturday,” Bright said. With defender Ray Jonsson sidelined with a torn right quadricep muscle, having Cagara back takes on an even greater importance in the face of the devastating offense of Singapore, which is keen on snapping a three-game losing streak to the Philippines and continue its own quest of entering the finals. The good news is that Fil-Spanish defender Juani Guirado and Fil-Dutch midfielder Paul Mulders returned with the squad last Saturday and will be available for Saturday’s game.
“Because of his slow recovery from jet lag, Mulder decided to return to Manila with us while Juani has been with us even before we left for Thailand,” Palami said.www.malaya.com.ph/index.php/sports/19084-azkals-likely-to-miss-3-key-aces-in-semis-opener

With our 2 tall centerbacks definitely SIN will have harder time attacking the thru center. I watched them play here a lot of times and they are very good in using quick cross pass from right plank. Duric usually position either at center or at left side because he is tall and good in blindside positioning. Hariss harun will be out due injury the guy who contained PYH last tym they met at Jalan Bessar which is a good break for Phils. but then again its only a small factor of the match. This is it, i can not wait for the first leg, 2nd leg my prayer support be with them coz I have work that day, anyways Pinoy contingent here are larger than before for support them and usually more noisy in cheering than the locals. ole ole ole

Thinking positive despite worst case scenario: (Angel, Lucena, and Cagara are unavailable)
In the absence of Cagara, it will be Christaens' time to shine.
For Lucena, it will be de Jong or Angeles time to shine as well. Greatwich can also step up as he is already familiar with the Singaporeans.
As for Angel, I'm not really worried for his position as we have alot of offensive options to pair up with Phil i.e. Wolf, Beloya, Reichelt, and Mulders. Although I'll opt Mulders to take care of the midfield.
oh by the way, how's Shrock's availability? Isn't it he is most likely available during semifinal rounds?

Jonsson's injury sounds pretty bad. He might be out for the rest of the Cup. If the AFF decides that it's bad enough, his spot could be replaced by another player. Time to call up Hoffenheim. Singapore have a player with a fracture, shouldn't he have his spot opened up too? As it stands now, Schrock can't participate in the Suzuki Cup because his name wasn't included in the final 22-man squad.

Hoffenheim has matches against Hamburger on the 7th but the next match would be on the 16th against Dortmund, making him available for the Singapore league, that is if he gets to replace an injured player on the 22 man list submitted.
How about Mark Hartmann?

oh by the way, how's Shrock's availability? Isn't it he is most likely available during semifinal rounds? Schrock was not registered for this competition, iirc. Like we said, nervous times ahead. 3 quality players out and Singapore itching to get back at us. I just hope our luck turns around on match day.
