stellarboy: Thank You I was just confused because of this paragraph in wikipedia of 2012 AFF Suzuki Cup Qualification: According to reports in the Philippines in early 2011, they have been placed as the No. 6 seed and therefore automatically qualify for the final tournament, replacing Myanmar. However, this has yet to be confirmed by the ASEAN Football Federation. Brunei is expected to return, having been re-instated towards the end of May 2011 by FIFA, following their suspension since September 2009. Since the question is already answered the only question is who will be our enemies in our group hehehe.

Nations in qualification stage Myanmar Laos Cambodia Brunei Timor Leste Pick the best choice for Philippines' progress hehe ;D Myanmar and Laos are the favorites to advance... can't really pick anyone coz remember SEA games we thought Brunei and Timor Leste were sure 3 pts. for the u23 azkals but we lose both matches against this teams...

^ it's U23 that played in the SEA games. it's quite different compared to our senior squad. confident pa rin akong matatalo ng senior azkals ang brunei at timor leste. if the results are different, talagang kelangang sipain na yung coach.

IIRC, I believe AkTV secured the rights to cover this event. I'll check for confirmation.

According to some they know football but they don't scout players unlike studio 23. I thought the Azkals signed a contract with ABS CBN? All Azkals games will be televised in any ABS CBN channel such as Studio 23, Balls even ABS CBN itself. If AKTV will air this event, they might breach the contract of Azkals for channel 2

If I'm not mistaken, whoever has the contract to broadcast Azkals matches will get the rights to broadcast the Suzuki Cup. I think the Azkals' contract with ABS-CBN will expire soon and both ABS-CBN and TV5 have put up new bids. So whoever wins the contract gets to air the matches. ABS-CBN's previous problem with Azkals match broadcasts was conflicts with PBA. Since they're not airing PBA anymore, I'd stick with ABS. We will likely see conflicts with PBA scheduling again in TV5. Nations in qualification stage Myanmar Laos Cambodia Brunei Timor Leste Pick the best choice for Philippines' progress hehe ;D Like Fadzki said, Myanmar and Laos are favourites to go through to the group stage. But it's better for the Philippines if weaker teams get through, so I'd say any team except for the two favourites. THIS IS THE RENAISSANCE OF PHILIPPINE FOOTBALL. THE TURNOVER FROM UNDERDOGS TO RESPECTABLES. I think the Azkals contributed more than that. It is because of the Azkals that ASEAN football fans no longer automatically expect certain teams to win. They proved that anything is possible if you work for it.

talagang kelangang sipain na yung coach. Shouldn't the "U17 coach's" contract be over by the time we compete in the Suzuki Cup? If it is, its actually quite exciting to thing who we would have as coach by then. I think we deserve a coach of our own choosing, not one "given" to us(though I appreciate Germany's aid). Plus he himself said he "wanted to resign in June(of this year)" so why keep a coach who really doesn't want to be here? If he wants to stay as a sort of "grassroots program coordinator" that would be ok, he, after all was a successful junior coach in the past.
