looks like we got the respect of coach Rajagobal, this is interest although a lot of us will miss the "underdog" tag that they usually bestow on our team here in the AFF cup.

Yes, our team earned Rajagobal's respect and this guy knows his football. Pity how others out there just don't get it, that it isn't only about winning when it comes to football, especially when considering the level from which we came and our current stage of development which is a work in progress.

The Philippines are in the semi-finals of the 2012 AFC Challenge Cup, and I'm really feeling that ASEAN neighbours are in shock, in awe, amazed, threatened, or something... because this team they underestimated in 2010, arrived in this semi-finals with a very probable chance to make it to the finals and bag a qualification to the 2015 Asian Cup.
I do feel a double-shocker this year, not yet talking about the Long Teng Cup and the friendlies.

Seeing our difficulties re: defensive depth, would it be wise to reconsider Anton Del Rosario's standing with the team?

Though it's arguable if he's a first choice pick. I hope he won't argue that they would have made the ACC finals with him in the back line. You gotta give props to the players that stepped up in his absence.

Tony Atayde (@tonyatayde): Just thinking about that Azkals game though, it would've been a COMPLETELY different story if my man @alybor11 was on the back line.
Aly Borromeo (@alybor11): @tonyatayde I guarantee you Suzuki Cup will be a different story! Our neighboring countries must be crapping in their pants
LOL with the crap. ;D

I hope we have a complete roster in Suzuki cup with Lucena, Ott, Neil, Cagara, Stephan, Mulder, Wolf and utilize more our young talents like Beloya who is a very good striker and can be a perfect backup striker than Araneta, and Angeles as back up for Stephan or Ott, etc.
I also hope we host the Challenge cup, I vote for Panaad. It will be big in Panaad, the people there are very passionate about football and can help our countries tourism.
What to improve: 1. Ball control 2. Better passing 3. Much longer and fluid ball possession - ( the ball does not even last 20 seconds on our feet, na aagawan agad tayu or mali pasa ) 4. Better defense especially for the back four 5. And better grassroot level training - so if the Euro base players are not available we will always have available talents )
Weiss is good, But I hope we will still get the services of Mcmenemy for the youth team the U-23 U-21 , etc.

Because our team have the advantage of being one of the higher-seeded teams because of the semis in 2010, they can have longer practice times with each other. I'm presuming they'll undergo a training camp again, maybe before the Long Teng Cup and the friendly match that follows it. Speaking of hosting, if we ever reach the home-and-away knockout stages, I still would want to host it in Rizal, but given the Panaad stadium has been doing pretty well, we could host it there. Coach Zoran, if he should stay, should hopefully put an impressive run on the U22 Asian Championship qualifiers in the middle of the year, and that could attract Coach Weiss's attention.

Next target for Azkals: Suzuki Cup finalsABS-CBNnews.com Posted at 03/20/2012 10:48 PM | Updated as of 03/20/2012 10:48 PM MANILA, Philippines – Following their fairy-tale run in the AFC Challenge Cup, the Philippine Azkals have set their sights on a new goal: reaching the AFF Suzuki Cup finals. The Azkals made Philippine football history by finishing third in the Challenge Cup in Nepal. They have set a higher goal by shooting for a finals finish in the Suzuki Cup. “We have the AFF Suzuki Cup coming in and we hope that we do better from the semifinals that we ended up last time,” Azkals team manager Dan Palami told ABS-CBN’s Dyan Castillejo following their arrival from Nepal. The Philippine Azkals were suddenly noticed by a basketball-crazy nation after stamping a pivotal win over defending champion Vietnam and barged into the semifinals of the 2010 Suzuki Cup in Indonesia. They duplicated the same feat in the 2012 Challenge Cup by nabbing a semifinal slot through successive wins over former champions India and Tajikistan. The 9th edition of the AFF Suzuki Cup will take place from November 24 to December 22. By virtue of its semifinals finish in 2010, the Philippines is already qualified for the finals group. Other countries already included in the group are Indonesia, Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam and defending champion Malaysia. www.abs-cbnnews.com/sports/03/20/12/next-target-azkals-suzuki-cup-finals
Sana tayo na ang mag-Champion dito Let's prove na katatakutan tayo ng kapitbahay natin hehehe

This is the reason why IDN is threatened by FIFA Based on Wikipedia page of 2012 AFF Suzuki Cup "Six teams have qualified directly to the finals. However, Indonesia have been warned that due to government interferance Indonesia could possibly be suspended by FIFA." Govt threatens to take ove Indonesia FAMar 16, 3:58 am EDT March 16 (Reuters) - Indonesia’s government threatened to take over the country’s soccer association as the bitter infighting over a breakaway league rages on, local media reported on Friday. FIFA has threatened to sanction Indonesia unless the football association (PSSI) restores order and unifies the rebel Indonesia Super League with the national league by March 20. Government interference risks inflaming the situation still further. But the National Sports Committee (KONI) has said it will take over the beleagured PSSI if it fails to end months of chaos by the weekend, the Jakarta Globe newspaper said. “KONI is the sports authority in the country and we have a duty to make sure sports development, including football, runs smoothly,” said chairman Tono Suratman. “We’ve been encouraging the PSSI and KPSI to reconcile and work together to improve Indonesian football. “However, if they fail to do that, we have to save the sport by taking over the PSSI.” The PSSI has been plagued by prolonged infighting and has been blamed for the national team’s humiliating 10-0 defeat by Bahrain in their World Cup qualifier last month. Indonesia were forced to field an inexperienced side after FIFA banned them from picking players from the rebel Indonesian Super League (ISL), which the PSSI has refused to recognise. A reconciliation attempt between the warring factions on Wednesday drew a blank after only one club from the ISL turned up at a meeting at a Jakarta hotel. PSSI deputy secretary general Hadiyandra warned of the possibility of sanctions if KONI went ahead with its plan. “Even the president (Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono) knows the government cannot interfere with the PSSI because then the country would be suspended by FIFA,” he said.
