Great build-up leading to that last goal. Happy to see a lot of new faces get their chances tonight.

PYH still not 100% (if you noticed he had his left hamstring wrapped). Could have done a lot more, but good to see him on the field.

First win for Dooley ! ! well done. . . good thing is he has given debuts to 4 players O'Donnel, Sato, Dizon and Pettys. . . Joy to watch is the link up in the left flank between two youngsters left back Sato and left winger Dizon. . .mabuhay kayo! ! !

Great game.... We should have been better than this if only Weiss was replaced earlier... Is Mark Hartmann in Qatar? Hindi yata pinasok, is he injured?

Ok, I gonna eat crow. I thought that replacing Weiss this late was a bad idea but after watching the first half of this game I see a vast improvement from the way they play. Specially the line up is mostly UFL based players. Dooley giving chances to the young guys and the way they stepped up is a masterpiece; a work of a genius! Its like every player that debut played a crucial part of the game. But we have to be cautious, this is Nepal after all a team that didnt make it to CC, our main goal. Go Forward Azkals!
And how about the crowd in Qatar!!! WOW!

at the 90th minute james decided to have a shot outiside the 18 instead of passing, wasted opportunity Mate, that is called the striker's mentality. It is his ball, altho' he's transforming himself as a distributor, that mentality will not fade. He shouldn't be sorry for that, he is no. 10. And man, Rota is a frkn wall! That game exceeds my expectations, scoring 2 goals in the first half without a natural forward meant those are team goals. short passing is very slick, very few long balls. you can see the urge to get the ball back when lost. the youngsters played international football that i cant't wait to see our U-23 playing. also happy for Balut, he waited years for this, he's celebrating like an escaped prisoner. he's goal is from a short pass which is an eye candy. What can you say about JdJ up front? He's good playing the ball forward but it seems like he can't shoot it there.

Thanks for posting the first half. This is the BEST I have ever seen the Azkals play. The organization, the runs, the passes, the defense all point to a complete team that I have not ever seen. I wanted to pay particular attention to the defense to see how organized they were compared to the McMenemy team, and they were every bit as disciplined and coordinated. Marking was good and the offside trap was there and ready although there was no opportunity to use it. The buildup from the back, from the GK, was such a change from the Azkals of old. I remember seeing one long goal kick in the half, and that's because Nepal was catching on to the attack buildup and decided to push forward. The GK wisely kicked long to keep them honest. Even in the front the offense, the attack, was patient. I believe the first two shots on goal resulted in goals. Excellent goal ratio, shooting when there's quality and high probability. The image below is of the first one by Dizon where I thought he was offside because he was so open. But in watching the replay many times, Dizon was moving forward when the rest of the players, Azkals and Nepal, were moving backwards. Classic dummy that fooled Nepal. Or it was a good run by Dizon. Or both. Or a practiced run that work. Or the players knowing each other. Or all of these. Credit to Steuble for the second goal. I give more credit to the beautiful cross by JYH, however. That has always been his strength and there it was again. O'Donnell at goal makes me nervous, but then again he's young. One mistake was in not catching the ball that went right through his hands. The other was when he and Simon Rota were too close and it didn't look clear who was supposed to get the ball. Maybe it was the camera angle, but still, nothing like that should ever happen. Nepal is not that bad. They had good organization of their own and teamwork. This is not the Mongolia team that we lost to three (?) years ago. And that's what makes me excited about this Azkals team and in particular this coach. None of the disorganization, none of the reckless runs that left the defense open to easy counter attacks. Congratulations on the win. More comments if the 2nd half is posted. I've marked Dizon and the position of the last Nepal player. Clearly not offside.
