pinaka malaking problema for this team eh. yung mga power house nations from ASEAN eh nag cocompete na sa Olimpic Qualifying. so buo na yung team nila,. unlike sa atin na hindi pa tapos yung selection, at hindi pa nakakapag simula ng training.

(ako nga dec. 2010 lang bumalik interes sa football) so the phil. team should just play for what the team has, kaya nga azkals underdogs pa rin pero lumalaban until the end ;D

Malayo pa naman ang November... The PFF management lead by Mr. Palami has more than enough time to prepare the squad... Malakas talaga ang U23 natin.. Imagine Neil Etheridge, Simon Greatwitch, Jason De Jong, Many Ott, the Hall Brothers, Mark Drinkuth etc etc... Im optimistic na mag susucceed ang U23 nang Pinas...

Malaysia is the strongest team for the SEA Games ;D the team that won the 2010 Suzuki Cup is basically intact for the 2011 SEA Games Prior to the Suzuki Cup in 2010, Malaysia also won the 2009 SEA Games.. But i doubt if those players are still eligible to play for the U23.. I think more than half of that winning team is already above 23...

I think more than half of that winning team is already above 23... if remember correctly(read a SEA football blog somewhere), only 3 players from the Malaysian NT that plays in the 2010 Suzuki Cup are inelligible also, SEA games rules permit 3 over-aged players in the squad (but im not sure )

I hope they can discover more talents from here and around abroad for our youth team. Good thing that 6 or 7 Philippines Azkals are still qualified. SEA will be a great training ground for our youth team. I believe there are potential talents here in Visayas and Mindanoe all they need is training on how to properly use there skills in a team concept and international games.

PFF eyes medal in SEA Games
A WEEK after knowing the Philippines’ opponent in the first round of 2014 Brazil World Cup qualifying, the Philippine Football Federation (PFF) has expressed high hopes to enter the medal tally of the 26th Southeast Asian (SEA) Games this November in Indonesia.
The PFF President Mariano Araneta said he already gave “Azkals” team manager the full authority to form the best Under-23 squad that would challenge Southeast Asia’s powerhouse and reigning champion Malaysia, Vietnam and Singapore.
“I’m hoping we can win a medal in this coming SEA Games,” said Araneta, noting the SEA Games Federation Council will allow three overage players per team. “They may allow three overage players but the coaching staff will take care of it.”
Azkals head coach German Hans Michael Weiss will also handle the team during preparation and competition proper.
Palami aims to end the medal drought since Philippines participated in the 1977 SEAG by creating the strongest and youngest football team. He will also serve as team manager of the team.
It will be a multitasking job for the PFF as it also prepares for the World Cup qualifying first round where the Azkals battle Sri Lanka in June and July besides the coming SEAG U-23 event and next year’s Asian Football Confederation Challenge Cup main draw.

With Indonesia kinda following the Philippines' footsteps in scouting the world for players that has Filipino/Indonesian heritage, ASEAN football will now have a European twist with Philippines, Indonesia and Singapore having a significant amount of semi-Caucasians in their line-up. The football arms race is ON indeed.
