If a losing team can have a Man of the Match it'd be Roland Muller. He surely showed his quality out there tonight. Manny Ott also played above most of his teamates, its no wonder he plays in the Regionalliga. It was a bad game for the left side defense, but you've got to wonder where the left winger was in those situations too. I've got hope we can and will bounce back next match.

Lol why is the "RACE" thing being raised again?? For Christ's sake, they are all Filipinos. And it just so happened that it was Leonora who was the flop for this game, and it was really evident throughout the 2nd half, he was sagging way to deep and was just staring at the ball coming towards him. For all of you who says that Leonora is being criticized because he's the only local playing on the Azkals Line-up, shame on you guys!! You guys are the one being racist. These players are all Filipinos regardless of their blood percentage. I'm not saying that the rest of the defense was great, to be honest it was only Carli who did an impressive job on the defense together with Muller.. the rest of the defense was way below mediocre. But I have to say that Leonora was the greatest flop for the game because it was so evident throught the 2nd half... COME ON GUYS!!! Don't be blinded by that "fil-foreign thing" .. IT DOESN't exist.. All of them are FILIPINOS. com'on... it wasnt that too straightforward. nagkataon na yung umaatake sa flank ni leonora just happened to be the best in the VN squad (also their captain) and has more experience playing with their senior team. plus leonora got yellow carded which limited his actions on the pitch and the vietnamese capitalized on that, too. plus nagcramps pa sya. he's too tired to fend off most attacks in the 2nd half. yes, he's got some lapses, too, but the coaching staff clearly saw that but didnt do anything to make it right. a simple substitution could have changed the outcome of the game, IMHO.

Sayang nga bro no? pero ganun talaga, with current u23 team who's just starting to build up, sometime expected na talaga yung lost. Well it would be great if it ended up 0-1 or perhaps a draw 1-1 minus the own goal, i admit i really hate that moment but its an error or tight na talaga ang pressure kaya nagkamali. About Mark in some point parang over rated nga pero its not also good to be judgemental sa isang player lang, will still give a chance 1st game pa lang naman. We still need to give more time to improve our NT but we are fortunate we are already starting. Enjoy na lang tayo, sana maging more effective sila the following match. Go lang u23 azkals!

If only Oliver P. is available... looks like Matt Hartmann is out of his place. Bout Leonora, his side is obviously the target of the Viets. base on last LTC, I thought he can handle that flank! tsk tsk tsk..
Guys please bounce back on your next game!!!

I think Oliver P. is ineligible for the SEA games. I think he's older than 23 already. Not sure though..

More than the individual mistakes or lapses, what needs to be worked on is the offside trap. The trap got beaten so many times and if it wasn't for Muller...
The defense seemed to rely on the offside trap too much and when it was evident they weren't doing a good job of it they (both players and the coach) should have started to make adjustments. It takes experience and cohesion to work on the trap but they shouldn't have been trying to learn to do that against a team like Vietnam in a competitive match. Well, they got four days to work on it before the next match.
Tabokanon, now that you mentioned it, Mark Hartmann (I'm assuming you were referring to him, though his brother did seem uncomfortable playing centerback as well) seemed to be all over the place but not in a productive kind of way. I think this may explain why Beloya seemed anonymous during the match, except for that assist to Ott.
I'm not too familiar with Mark Hartmann, but he's not known for his pace right?

Just watch the game again and see for yourself. i'm not saying wala syang lapses sa guarding nya. but did you also notice that VN captain kung gaano talaga sya kagaling? and leonora was doing fine the 1st half. after he was carded, medyo ayaw na dumikit kaya ayun, nabubutas defense nya. he can still bounce back from this, im sure. kelangan lang ng mas maayos na direction from coaching staff. mas sila nakakakita ng limitations ng players natin at san sila dapat maglagay ng adjustments. they already saw what was happening early in the 2nd half sa right flank natin, yet, nothing was done. you cannot blame everything on leonora. he's just one man, 11 ung players sa field plus we have the coaching staff who should have called in some necessary adjustments right away that our defense started collapsing but did nothing.
