Yah man, maybe third times the charm for the team. I hope he plays the real defensive guys instead of putting a damn striker and starting a midfielder in the fullback position! Come on! D. Basa has played in bigger games than U23 games, and you put an 18 year old Striker who is in the 8th tier of German football and bench a former senior NT member and who's actually capped in bigger games? I felt sorry for the coach before but now he's playing Lego with the team members and positions. Its like he's learning to coach as he goes along...
Man I feel so bad for the players AND for the fans.

That's why last time I mentioned that the current coach is somewhat "doing an O.J.T in coaching the Azkals". *Sigh* anyways wala naman tayong mawa eh so goodluck nalang sa ating U-23 players: our future Azkals. Give it you best nalang.
[/rant mode]
Going back, even if de Murga cannot play for the next match, this is still not a good reason to put a midfielder to fill in the RB position. Anong ginagawa ni Raymark Fernandez sa lineup? For goodness sake, he's a defender, and it's sensible to replace/fill-in the loss of a defender with another defender!
For my recommended line-up (w/c will supercede the line-up that I suggested yesterday) we could go with 2 options.
Option 1: Field Raymark Fernandez in the RB position. It wouldn't be his optimal position since he's a CB, but given the situation I'd right choose a CB alternatively playing as a RB rather than CM or CAM. I'll stick with classic 4-4-2 formation:
Muller
Leonora - JVB - Basa - Fernandez
Christaens - Ott - de Jong - Porteira
Beloya - Valmayor
Option 2: Do not try tweaking Raymark's position but re-adjust the whole formation. Tutal sandamakmak ang midfielders na nilagay sa U-23 lineup so why don't we employ a midfield-dominant formation i.e. 3-5-2:
Muller
JVB - Basa- Fernandez (Left CB, CB, Righ CB, no defensive wings)
Christaens - Ott - de Jong - X - Porteira (Christaens and O.J. will be playing a more conservative game since they'll be tasked to support the wings in defense.
Beloya - Valmayor
Midfield X can be Matt Hartmann, Marwin Angeles, Jake Morallo, or Mark Drinkuth. I'll reserve Patrick Hinrichsen as sub when O.J. runs out of gas in the 2nd half.

Woooooaaaahh!! A tweet from tjmanotoc "U23 Azkals update as of 11-10: decision of coaching staff: Matt Hartman will sit on the bench 4 game vs Laos. De Jong & Ott will be co-caps" I think the coach has been lurking around this forum.. hahaha..

What about Mark? His brother might feel lonely at the bench, he could keep him company there. Hehe

Mr. Palami himself was a poster as well.

Tweet from Rick Olivares: "Incident in a practice match between Loyola & Green Archers (?). heard from an enraged Hans Smit that Matthew Hartmann who is not with the U23 team at the mo was playing way too aggressive and there were harsh words exchanged with some locals wanting to gang up on him. " www.twitlonger.com/show/e45tsqread some tweets and it seems like not looking good for matt hartmann

Found it!! article where the coach said some players acting like "stars" sports.inquirer.net/23985/under-23-azkals-return-to-action-vs-laos and also i'm wishing the best for our delegation to the SEA games. it seems like after the Azkals' success everyone wants to impress in representing the Flag to gain recognition and support from our country men.. This is gonna be exciting!!

Very intriguing tweets i've read this morning:
@ronnathanielsz (Ronnie Nathanielsz) "We understand Matthew Hartmann won't be fielded today because the captain missed practice the past two days while brother Mark showed up."
@ronnathanielsz (Ronnie Nathanielsz) "Also received a report that's disturbing if true, that the brothers girlfriends were staying in the same hotel. Rules must be followed!"
*im shaking my head.

Thanks for those tweets jp...
What's going on! I leave for an hour or two and I come back to this! My first thoughts are, "thank God the seniors don't act this way" and if they do its behind closed doors.
I want to say "I told you so" to no one in particular. Seriously, to heap so much pressure on Matt by making him the Captain over the massively experienced de Jong and Ott was a little to much to expect a young adult to handle. And I haven't even mentioned about the wide 'skill' gap between the former and new Captain. Point is, JdJ and Ott has 'been there done that' whilst poor Matt was gone all these years. I don't blame him, he didn't ask for it, I'm sure.
I hope the two Hartmanns bounce back from all this, I still think they have a lot to offer. Maybe not now but somewhere along the way.
Methinks the coach has lost control of some of his troops...
Good luck to my boys today! Play like there's no tomorrow!

I'm really saddened by this news, even if they'd be considered as rumours as of the moment. This must have been a big blow to the team, if ever Matt did back off and went back to the PI to play for his club. And now that he's back for Loyola, this news of a fight between an opponent came up. How disheartening.

Sigh... Okay, so we now have de Jong and Ott as co-captains. I kinda like that. Right, I believe it's time for Basa to step up.

Sad realities: I can't handle lechon kawali and Matt just can't handle attitude. We all have given him a chance to bounce back but look what he did. Not to mention he was tasked to wear the arm band. Totally not a good showing, it's like turning your back to PHL flag. Anyway, we still have games left lets set aside it first and continue to support our young squad. But still it's just sad.
