Anyone watching the DPRK-PAL match? Frankly, I can't see how TKM would even win against DPRK, they did not impress me, I expected more from them, kayang-kaya naman pala, just like TJK. We can still win 3rd place, Palestine is a known quantity for us by now. I'm just not sure if we still have the fighting heart for the 3rd-place match.

____This tournament only brings positive results to The Philippine football, we may not have reach the finals but we reach semi whom I think is a good result for us considering we only revive our football just a year ago. ____Most of the young guys like marwin, misagh and dejong really gain experience playing on top football. They have now known what they would improve with there footballing skills. ____We gain respect form our opponents and neighboring countries now knows what The Philippine Team can offer. Many fil-foreign players are now considering joining The Philippine team. ____We need more time and effort to improve. Who knows in just a couple of years a filipino kid may be discovered to be the next Phil or James, as far as I know many kids now are considering football as the sports for The Philippines.

The peeps at PhilBoxing aren't all trolls and bashers. Read on. MY BOTTLE OF TEQUILA AND PHILIPPINE AZKALS17-Mar-2012 By: Jam Gut'z PinoyGreats.com - The Philippine National Football team "Azkals" just lost to a very impressive Turkmenistan Football Team in a much-anticipated semifinal match in the AFC Challenge Cup 2012 to a final score of 1 - 2. It was a heartbreaking loss for the Azkals as they held a one goal lead going into the 2nd half via a beautiful header by Phil Younghusband in 25' minute of the game. Honestly, the Azkals were quite fortunate to hold on to the lead for quite some time but throughout the game, it was clear to see that Turkmenistan was far more superior in discipline and overall play making both on the offensive and defensive end of the field. The thing that impressed me the most with Turkmenistan was their poise and patience. As nerve-racking as the game was, they never panicked, it was really imminent and inevitable that they will pull through this match against the young, aggressive but discombobulated Philippine Azkals team. It was only a matter of time before the door opened for Turkmenistan as they kept knocking on the door, knocking on the door, knocking on the door all throughout the game. The Azkals fans were hanging on to their dear seats, with their hearts pumping like it was about to explode, with nails on both hands sunk deeply into the cushion of their seats. I for one cringed every time Turkmenistan starts to attack with tremendous precision. At the start of the 2nd half, the Azkals were totally outplayed and outclassed. It almost looked like a 90% to 10% advantage in possession for Turkmenistan. And so in the final minutes of the game, Turkmenistan broke the heart of millions of Azkals fans (sadly, to the delight of so many naysayers). They scored an equalizer via a sloppy defensive play by the Azkals. Neil Etheridge showed tremendous goal-saving plays throughout the game but this one was unstoppable. And about 5 minutes later, another scintillating goal by Turkmenistan by a seemingly non-existent Azkals defense. And to top it all up, Neil Etheridge was sent off for kicking Turkmenistan's 2nd goal scorer clearly out of frustration. That means, he will be greatly missed in the match on Monday for 3rd place against the winner of Palestine-North Korea semifinal match. Heartbreaking! Deflating! Frustrating! Disappointing! You name it! I for one felt it after the game. But at the end of the day, you have to consider that we missed two important players today in James Younghusband and Angel Guirado. It is really hard to be a fan at times like this and I know those naysayers that took a sabbatical last time will be rejoicing at the current result of the Azkals. But I still support our team, GO AZKALS! I know it's hard but once the team finds success, those that stuck with the team through bad times can only have the greatest of feeling than those fair-weather fans. The beauty of football is when you win, it's one of the greatest feelings in the world but when you lose, well, you just got to open up that bottle tequila and get over it. 'Til the next Azkals game on Monday. Cheers! forum.philboxing.com/viewtopic.php?f=107&t=217940&sid=e124896f7659bd3801c238a205a2fefb

i think this is a lesson for our team that our subs are old or lack of skill (not all).i wouldnt be surprise that some of our reserve will be booted out of the team. when suzuki would be near we would have new guys(baka dahil our subs are old or dosent have the international standards).maski hinde full blooded pinoy im ok with it cause our local dosent have the standards YET.hopefully this would encourage our youth to play football.

the coaching staff shouldnt have let carli wear neil's jersey with etherdge's name on it, it is not allowed. we couldnt win that match due to that technicallity. falling back early after the goal was okay, the azkals play better on the counter and with phil as sole target man. pyh can create chances even against two defenders.

If Anton was there, there would have been a better option off the bench. Instead of Gener or whoever else the sub was..

But still, Anton is one of the better defenders in the local league and in the local azkals, with the thought that our foreign based couldn't be available to play.

very disappointing result, conceding 2 goals in the last 10 minutes is very hard to accept. Turks just broke my heart. they ruined my day

*facepalm* as in *facepalm* with 2 hands. please have roel gener retire. have the younger ones be given the chance. wla sya sarili nya habang naglalaro.
neil etheridge needs to be discplined also. that was schoolboy foul!!! i was so mad when i saw the replay.
i accepted the lost. but that foul was uncalled for. what got into his head. i know he was frustrated, but for goodness sake he is supposed to be a world-class player. GRRRRRRRRRR

One thing to learn is know how to control their temper next time. Still proud of them. About the coach i don't think its good to look for a replacement at this time. I think coach is doing his job, its just so happen that PH Team wasn't able to deliver 100% due to many factors. Yes PH Football Team really improved over the past years. That's the most important thing. Just need more exposure & additional roster to fill the gap. ---> ;D

Sana di mawalan ng morale yung players natin kahit na masakit yung pagkatalo and suspended si Etheridge for the last game. Sana makuha din natin ang 3rd place para tayo ang kauna-unahang ASEAN nation na magtatapos ng top 3 sa challenge cup!
