THE DRAW IN FULL Group A: Brazil, Croatia, Mexico, Cameroon Group B: Spain, Netherlands, Chile, Australia Group C: Colombia, Greece, Cote d'Ivoire, Japan Group D: Uruguay, Costa Rica, England, Italy Group E: Switzerland, Ecuador, France, Honduras Group F: Argentina, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Iran, Nigeria Group G: Germany, Portugal, Ghana, USA Group H: Belgium, Algeria, Russia, Korea Republic
Stray Observations: Wow, Group G is Group of Death. Personally, I always root for USA. But wow, tough draw for them. Spain and Netherlands, 2010 World Cup finalists, face off in their opening match. Tough group for the Socceroos. Anyone excited about Group E? Anyone? My two cents, Argentina are basically in the quarter-finals. Japan has a chance to make it past the group stage. England goes up against Italy in their opening match.

I kinda like Mexico's chances to advance. They could be a dark horse in their group.

I think it's a pretty even group, the second place could be decided on goal diferential.

Maybe it has something to do with Dempsey playing in England. Altidore is also not included. Most of the players listed are from MLS, with one player based in Norway, whose league is off-season during January.

But it turns out he's on loan to Fulham.

I kinda like Mexico's chances to advance. They could be a dark horse in their group. This Mexico. Is good. www.wysjg.com/mexico-c-11_32/ , there is no hope that he can enter the first few. Just hope he can have a good performance.

I think the team to watch for is Belgium. They have been showing constant improvement. Their players are also showing a lot of promise. In a few years time. I think they will be the force to be reckon with.

MLS pre season (off season), for time-in-feet, dempsey has to continuously play to prep for WC, that's why he was loaned. Klinsmann's guidance.

The problems are going away (still I think we will have an even battle with Croatia for the second place in the group).

So how do fans in the Philippines get to watch the World Cup? I see on Wikipedia that ABS-CBN has broadcasting rights. I subscribed for all the games back in 2010 with Dream. Currently with Cignal HD and I'm really hoping they provide HD coverage. I know SkyCable (ugh) will be broadcasting it from their Balls channel but I've been really underwhelmed by the quality of their broadcast in the previous two World Cups. But with the World Cup so close with no advertisements to be seen from Cignal, I'm doubtful.
