isipin niyo, malakas azkals. they're tall, talented, and most have international exposure. they just need time to gel together. pag nagkataon, we might give the best teams in asia a run for their money. pero matagal pa yun. years pa. for now, asa-asa muna but we wont get far. ;Dwith all the hoopla surrounding football, we don't need pessimistics like you, huwag ka sana magsalita ng tapos! wewelcomomin pnaman sana kita !

Actually nardy has a good point to make, I think. Here's Quinito Henson with an elaboration in the following link. www.philstar.com/SportsArticle.aspx?articleId=657924&publicationSubCategoryId=69Losing is a part of the beautiful game and we should support the team through thick and thin (Lord knows, we've been doing so for years). Nevertheless, the current rise of the Azkals from the ashes is a wonderful thing and I'm going to enjoy every moment, thank you very much! I've been patient and I will be patient again when the time comes. But for now, there's no harm in enjoying success and dreaming big, yeah?

IMO lang hah, its ok to be realistic about things, and also be optimistic, but lets not take it into a whole new level, ok? Our players are there not because they have been selected by our NT immediately, rather, they worked their behinds off to try out, to qualify and all that. they did their best, theyve worked together, and thats whats important. As to how strong we could be? Who knows? This influx of foreign trained Pinoys are going to be a big boost for us, but also, at the same time, we need to develop our own national system that can enhance our countrys football program. Once we could do this, I am sure, Even for us to aim for the next WC is impossible.

nice.,.. dumadami na mga tao dito. astig. manila naman sana mag host ng WC Qualifiers. Both Panaad and Rizal Memorial are potential hosts for the home leg of our first WC qualifying tie. The real determining factor is how soon the Renovations of the Manila venue would be completed. It's probably safe to assume that the PFF would love to host a game in Manila. That would rake in loads of publicity and cash. And if the team wins, it would certainly be a huge boost for Philippine Football in moving-and-shaking Manila... for better or worse.

First Rizal Memorial Stadium is being prepared early because there is an international event in April involving the national rugby team, the Volcanoes, against one of the strongest teams in Asia in the Hongkong XI. It is a test series match consisting of 2 games which will serve as preparation for the Division 1 A5N tournament in May which will decide who will be promoted to the premier Asians Top 5 tournament the following year which in turn will decide who will go to the World Cup of Rugby in 2015. Since rugby is a very rough sport and tough on any field, they will probably need to prepare it again for the first round of WC qualifiers. BTW, the Volcanoes are eerily similar to our team, in the sense that most of the players are Fil foreigners from abroad. The governing rugby organization (PRFU) however are a lot more organized and efficient and have seen them rise from the bottom just a few years ago to near the top of Asian rugby within a span of few years in both mens, womens and youth events. The Zobel Ayalas who financed most of these initiatives, hired the right people incl. foreigners to run the organization and unlike most sports org. in the Philippines is politics free.
Second, realistically the best chance we can hope for, with a lot of luck in the draw, is to reach the 3rd round group stage of the AFC World Cup qualifiers. At this point we will be facing some of the best teams in Asia which will provide us experience for our future games. The best way to improve really in any sport is to play better opponents. It will help improve our level of play and expose areas where we need to improve in order to keep up.
