I do like that Spanish right midfielder, Aldeguer, they are trying out. Spaniard players even in the third division tend to be very technically sound and would be ideal for the possession oriented system Coach Weiss uses. With him Schrock, Cagara, Lucena and the other players, it makes me even more positive about our chances in WC qualifying in June.

Yeah, he sounds like a good player. Downside to him is that he doesn't speak a lick of English and requires an interpreter. Still, having him to volley crosses sounds particularly menacing. I'd like to see him in action.

... Beho, I agree about there being a lot more local players deserving to be on the team than the pair of >35 years olds that are currently part of it. Only if they are superstars who have played in established leagues both here and abroad and have sparkling resumes, should that be allowed. They should give younger players a chance to learn and develop while playing international games. it's not a pair but rather a trio ;D and i read that as "political accommodation" on the part of Coach Weiss. As for Callisto, it is already official. He and VFF mutually agreed to terminate the contract. vietfootball.blogspot.com/2011/03/goodbye-calisto.html

Apparently Simon McMenemy is on the short list of coaches for Vietnam to replace Callisto who just resigned. Isn't that ironic? Will we see a reversal of strategies next time with us attacking and them parking the bus? I hope not as he knows our team inside and out and is still popular here. Other candidates is David Booth and Peter John Taylor who is Bradford City manager. vietfootball.blogspot.com/2011/03/english-coaches-apply-for-vietnam-job.html

behothe other guy in the trio is Margarse If ever Coach Macca will run the play for Vietnam, I would say 80% sila for the win. He knows all the strength and weakness of the core players. If the AzKals play the same attacking style like they did in the last Panaad match, we are in for a massacre... their main striker and their MF playmaker can easily take on 3 defenders on an open field play and thrives on the large space on the defensive third created by a high defensive line. Parking the bus also would only hurt Vietnam against the AzKals. Remember they only have one player who can match the height of the YH brothers and he is a forward. They have no imposing central defender and if ever that Spanish guy suits up for the Azkals, then no SEA teams could effectively park the bus against the AzKals anymore.
