From Bacolod but i agree it not fair that the international games will always be at the Capital. Visayans are known to be football fanatic.

Visayans are known to be football fanatic. not only that. i only want to remind kapwa manilenos/luzonians to stop acting as if philippines consists of manila/luzon only. just listen to what the people from visayas and mindanao say, ano kami taga-pakain na lang sa mga taga manila? buong bansa nagbabayad sa buwis ng mga lrt, mrt, etc etc when hindi naman kami nakikinabang kundi ang mga taga manila/luzon lang. tapos eto na naman yang ganyang klaseng mentalidad dinala sa sports, porke't ba siguradong malaki ang kikitain sa azkal games sa rizal eh sasabihin nang pointless na gawin ang laro sa Bacolod? kasi ba maraming tao dito. the reason bakit maraming tao dito is kasi dito tinambak lahat ng infrastructures, business, job opportunities etc etc. kaya lahat ng provinces from luzon, visayas at mindanao eh dagsaan lahat sa maynila. yan ang rason kung bakit maraming tao dito sa maynila. in essence naging OFW ang kapwa nating mga Pilipino sa sarili nilang bansa. magandang simula to for another sport sa pinas at di puro basketball na lang na wala naman tayong pag-asa dyan talaga. ayoko masira ang magandang simula na to by going the PBA way which is pera2x na lang. if we want this sport to grow di dapat to sinosolo ng isang lugar tulad ng maynila. dapat meron sa visayas at sa mindanao. i want for this game to instill a sense of pride and nationalism to its players and its fans. at hindi yung pangarap ay kumita ng malaking pera. the football fans doesn't consist only of manilenos/luzonians, but consists of the whole philippine nation. huwag niyong pahirapan ang libu-libong fans sa ibang islands ay papupuntahin niyo sa manila na gusto nang solohin kasi malaki na raw kinikita. ang laro ang dalhin niyo sa fans!!! pag puro pera na lang inisip ng larong to, tingnan ko lang kung hindi matulad to sa ibang sports na naging spoiled brats na ang mga players. kasi manalo o matalo, malaki naman kinikita nila. so to hell with national pride basta mapera pa rin ako.

Relax! To respond to your concerns... I think that your key concerns are "money", and "Metro Manila". About money... The sad truth is that no matter what, money will always be a factor. Another sad truth is that at its current state, the PFF needs all the money it can get. The good thing is that the PFF seems like an organisation that does not only focus on money. About "Metro Manila"... Let's not blow things out of proportion here. The reasons why the PFF chose Rizal Memorial over Panaad are just circumstance. It's also not the case that Manilans outnumber other people in the PFF. Even Manilans acknowledge that the Visayas is the football region of the Philippines. Suffice to say that PFF's decision was not made lightly. Let's not start a rift between Philippine football fans because of petty things.

Nobody said that other regions should not be considered. If we ever get to host regional competitions like the Suzuki Cup or the AFC Challenge Cup, we would need to have at least 2 stadiums that fit their standards and Panaad will I'm sure be one of those. However, when choosing venues, it is still important to show that you can support the tremendous expenditures that such events entail. Normally cities that bid for such events make their bids as attractive as possible in order to convince the respective organizations to choose them. They don't set conditions like mandating majority of the seats will have free admission or threatening to apply a 30 percent amusement tax on the remaining VIP seats like Bacolod has done, forcing the PFF to request funding from the PSC. They didn't even offer to cover the expenses of moving the lights from Paglaum to meet FIFA standards and improving their own stadium in the process, again forcing the PSC(who had no discretionary funds in their budget) to ask for extra funding from the government which was done only a few days before game day. Choosing Rizal this time is a good way of telling Bacolod, that they don't have to put up with this conditions anymore. I am sure that if Bacolod removes this conditions and improve their stadium, it will be considered again in the future. After all, they did a fantastic job of hosting the event on game day. I for one, would like more cities to build FIFA standard stadiums if only to facilitate the creation of a truly national professional league, where they can host not only events pitting our country against others but also our clubs against clubs from other countries as well, in tournaments like the AFC Champions Cup. Only then can we truly say that we have arrived as a football nation. ;D
