Dalawa kasi ang Stadium sa Bacolod na ang football pitch are with international standards ..... the now famous Panaad (which in our dialect means "Promise") at yung lumang stadium namin na Paglaum (meaning "Hope") which is a 2 grandstand complex before so actually almost same capacity and "Age" ng Rizal Memorial kaso pina demolish na ang 1st stand (made of wood pa kasi hahhaha) .... Bakit naging international standards yung dalawang field dun? Sabi kasi ng contractor na friend ko nung pina repair provincial government yung dalawang pitch may multiple drainage system pala yan ang football pitch para kahit umulan ng todo puedeng maglaro ..... tapos lalagyan ng foam matting para maging flat ang field bago nilagyan ng lupa at tinaniman ng damo also to maintain the water level for good grass condition. hambala pa mig.....sana tuloy2 na kasikatan ng football sa pinas...next stop cebu or davao ang maghohost ng international games....kaya sa mga local government build or renovate the football stadium.....

I vote for Rizal as well but if it isn't safe then it shouldn't be there. Especially since there's a good chance that we'd fill the stadium. It's an old facility, survived WWII, I believe. I hate to say it but it may be time to tear it down and build a new one in its place. And with the Azkals history with earthquakes, well... tearing it down is not easy because it is more than 50 years old and i think it is consider a heritage, however if it will be a hazard or the renovation and upgrade of the RMS is not feasible then i agree with your suggestion to tore it down and rebuild a new and better one.

let's face it, playing the home game in manila would attract more new fans (therefore more economically appealing) . of course we have to take into account renovation costs and other economic factors, which might not make manila as economically ideal.

my brain prods me to vote for rmsc but my pocket tells me not to. the hype that a manila wc qualifier brings will attract more corporate sponsors for the azkals and future pff sanctioned tourneys. am from iloilo and a panaad match would be less of an expense for me. twas convenient too, i was home 4 hours after the game. my total expenses that day was...believe it or not...180 pesos.
anyway, the pocket won....i voted panaad.

For the long time fans, it should be in Panaad. The place has long been the "home" of the Azkals and, if you're superstitious, they have a good record there. The stands will be composed of a real football-loving crowd. Bacolod is also a relatively safe city. And it has Chicken House! (yum!) To make new fans, attract corporate sponsors, save the PFF and Palami money, probably have better TV coverage... I'm afraid the list goes on. As much as I have fond memories of Panaad, the next logical step in promoting not only the Azkals but football in general would be to hold it in Manila (which pretty much means in Rizal Memorial Stadium). And better to do it against a team we have a fairly good chance of beating. With everyone leaving with a high (and $$$ in the eyes of opportunists) it'll only take things a step or two further. A bit off-topic, but I love that no one "owns" the name "Azkals". Thus everyone can create their own fan-made apparel and even sell them. Makes for good small businesses. So high-fives to all of us internet residing fans! We made a difference!

why not try Joaquin F. Enriquez Memorial Stadium? this stadium can hold around 40,000+ people.

The only problem with this place is the grandstand seats are not located in front of the football field...

I am reading that many are saying that Rizal has already been chosen? Any official confirmation from PFF? or news article? Or simply a misunderstanding among fans here? Hope this can be clarified.
I'm from Bacolod and would be very proud for my city to host another match of the Azkals. As already stated by other members here, through thick or thin, or sa hirap at ginhawa, without TV coverage, when most of you here didn't know anything about the Azkals, Bacolod has always been there for our national team. And Panaad has proven so many times that it is fitting to be the "home" of the Azkals. Just like the Wembley Stadium for England, the Bung Karno for Indonesia, or the King Bhumidol Statidium of the Thais.
But given our situation now where football is finally getting the attention it deserves in this country--- a situation I am truly grateful for as a longtime fan of football and our national team, I vote for Rizal Stadium. Football has gone a lot bigger, beyond Bacolod, beyond Panaad, beyond the Visayas. Surely, it would be a wonderful favor for Philippine football to have home match hosted in our Capital. More than the logistical or practical considerations, we should host the match in Manila given the symbolism attached to it, that hosting a match of our National team in our capital affirms that, finally, football is in the heart of the Philippines.
But first, fix that gaddarn Stadium. or else, Panaad will always be a beautiful venue for the Azkals and its fans.

you may check with PAL's and Cebu Pacific's Website.. for Pal they usually have the PAYDAY sale every 15th and 30th of the month and also during holidays (next possible promo might be on Apr9) or Piso promo Sale for CEbu Pac (which they just had recently.. ended yesterday).. also for Airphil last February I had my tix cost 1,100 Roundtrip MNLBCDMNL; just check with them since july is lean season air tix / cost might be lower. Maybe you misunderstood my comment Taga manila lang po ako ;D What I'm trying to say is, sana mameet ko din kayong mga co-Azkalero ko sa Rizal Coliseum. Coz pag nakapanood ako this will be my 1st experience to watch a football live. And sana meron dito yung makakapagreserve ng ticket for me kasi diko lam procedure At san makakabili ng ticket.babayaran ko nalang. sorry naexcte naman din ako!! hahahaha.... taga MNL ka din naman pla ;D

hahaha.. ang pangit naman, sayang HEHEHE...whoever designed that stadium did not think properly, what a waste for the 40,000 plus seats! ;D I've done a bit of research on the stadium and... The "Joaquin F. Enriquez Memorial Stadium" is in a sports complex. Here's the kicker: THE OTHER SIDE OF THE PITCH IS A TENNIS COURT So I don't think that "40,000" seats refers to football stadium seats but the seating capacity of the entire sports complex. Also, according to worldstadiums.com, IT ONLY SEATS 10,000. Sorry to burst bubbles, but I don't like misinformation. That wikipedia article is really poorly researched.
