PHILIPPINES vs KUWAITOctober 16, 2012Al-Sadaqua Walsalam Stadium, Kuwait City, Kuwait Time: TBA As a part of Azkals Middle East Training Camp, PHI will face 2 strong Gulf Region teams that will prove their strength for the Suzuki Cup. Kuwait, together with Bahrain and Jordan had donated money for PHI football assistance for recovery and renaissance of football here in Philippines after the 2010 Suzuki Cup. This game will test how far PHI football go and PH will show KUW that the assistance they gave is worth it.
Will PHI finally meet its first win against the Kuwaitis? This is one of the exciting matches PHI will play before the year ends that will test PHI power against the developed Asian football nation. PHI played KUW two times before in FIFA World Cup Qualifiers that result in PHI loss in both games. Will PHI take revenge?

for me against higher rank Kuwait: a win = an achievement draw = already competitive performance loss = move forward and improve, improve & improve.

We'll see a near-full strength of our team here I hope they could get revenge of their 2011 results. Only Schrock is not capped for Middle East games. Well a draw is now favorable for me considering they're a football addict nation. But if they win, it's a big achievement. Now since we have a strong line-up here in Kuwait, Weiss will be having difficult time of who will he'll choose for the starting 11.

Honestly, I think the chance of winning against Kuwait is VERY SLIM. Like, 10% maybe. But if we win, then it's a big achievement. I really don't believe in Denis Wolf's efficiency in striking and that back four of Kuwait is really strong. So, I guess a LUCK would win us. I'm really sorry but that's just how I look at our attackers. We all know that we don't have an efficient attackers with that line-up.

To be honest, I see this as a match we're meant to lose so we can see where our weaknesses are. But we are fielding a better team than what we had last time. Should be interesting. But I agree that we need more quality up front. Yes, even with Phil YH and Angel Guirado.

I miss the likes of Al Mutwa? the Ronaldinho look-alike guy.. and that big young kuwaiti guy named Youssuf? I will love to see the same Bahrain Golden back four, that Carli sickness might be a blessing in disguise, IMO he sometimes giving holes at the back resulting a great threat on our Keeper. Of course everybody is happy if Azkals put up another draw, a 1-0 loss is acceptable for me rather than last year horrific 3-0 loss.. Now YH Bros are back in the line up, it would be interesting if they won't be in the 1st XI.. Will Chieffy start? Where is Angel going to be placed? An interesting decision for Coach Weiss..

I guess Angel would be on Mulders position and Mulders on Marwin's. It would be really interesting to see how they par with the Kuwaitis. But I guess we will win. I bet! JYh, PYh and Angel trio has magic. We all saw it in the AFC Challenge Cup. and with Mulders. They seem to be playing with each other for years.

Lets go Azkals..lets frustrate the Kuwaitis with a draw and maybe when fatigue caught them later part of the game, we might pull some surprise decent chances and even a goal.
Now they got time to practice hard for cohesion together with the called-up pro footballers from Europe away from off-pitch distractions.

Kuwait will probably be a lot tougher than Bahrain and for sure they will add pressure 10 folds than what the latter showed last night. This time though, we'll have Wolf, Phil, Angel upfront so we as well will be more deadly offensively. I'm just not sure though if Weiss will opt to pair Phil and Wolf together or Phil and Angel at the start. Either way we can't go wrong as long as Weiss can react to changes, rotations and stuff. We are better team now 10 years better than the last time we fought Kuwait (WC 2014 Quali). I am predicting goals here but Draw eventually.
