Jonny has a point it is a poorly planned move, the good part is Indonesia isn't that far away from the Philippines and "jetlag" is negligible, they can also be allowed to sleep in, plus being pro athletes the flight shouldnt really be a problem. As for the "learning process" how many years before we can say we've(or PFF) has "learned"? It's not like this is the first or even 2nd time the Azkals has needed to travel!

Against a team we have never beaten and with home town support the Philippines can only dream about, it takes a brave coach to come up with many young and virtually untested players like in our roster today. I'm hoping with a creative starting XI, an exemplary team defense(something the Azkals are known for) and competent play from our veterans I see us playing to a draw in this game. I'll be happy with a draw and for sure the Indonesians will be incensed!
Two things will remain constant though. One, more than any other player the Azkals will rely on Phil for our offense and two, Rob Gier's leadership on defense will be the key to keep us competitive.
I can't even begin to guess our starting XI!
I'm guessing a 1-1 draw but I hope I'm wrong and we win.

Since the match will be played in Surkarta, you might also need to take into consideration, transit time as well, if there is no direct flight from the Philippines to Surkarta which is in Central Java I think.
Thank you

Yes, the team from Manila actually flew to Solo in batches via Singapore. Flight got delayed due to a tropical storm. They haven't slept while in transit.

some players are playing out from their natural position. i would have put Barbaso or move Carli at RB instead of James and Aguinaldo at CB. Deyto should have been our first choice keeper. but glad to see Hartmann starting, c'mon Mark it's time to shine!

I think James Younghusband will still play CB to keep Carli on RB. Let's see the chemistry between Phil and Hartmann.
