^^ simple because we are an emerging football great as a result of asean cup all eyes are on us even before we are featured on espn because we defeated the vietnam, timor leste never win against us, timor leste ranks 201 while we rank 158, even the british magazine that we are a force to reckon with, so that is why we are in the yahoo news everybody is observing us how far we will go....
it shows that how suck our football development program, it show that we are not filipinos as what our neighbors said even our fil-foreign was designated by our neighbor as a naturalized player, that we are just relying much on the fil-for reinforcement......it shows we are one hit wonder athletes.........haizzzz it hurts.....

If they win they have a chance for semis depending on the results of other teams.
We hope that other teams will have a favorable result for us.
If they lost, I'm afraid that there will be new comparison against our team such as PH Dragon Boat vs Azkals before since this is SEA Games so there will be crabs who will create comparison of teams.
Hope it wont happen. Crabs create issues without thinking of it

those who are not accepting the fact that someone needs to be responsible for the team's losses have terrible definition and/or concepts of leadership and management. jeez! ano yon? natalo sila ng wala lang?
first off, they are playing for flag and country so their aim must be to win and not just gain experience *thanks jason de jong for pointing this out in one of the articles featured in the Philippine Star newspaper (just cant remember when it was published and i'm so darn tired already to find they link, sorry)*.
we saw the players' passion and we salute them on giving out their best. however, sad it maybe, we've seen that their best wasn't really good enough.
maybe, when the coach starts to own up to his responsibilities (like accepting it's partly his fault we lost) and start believing that the team can win, probably, the boys' will gain more confidence on themselves and will not settle for "just getting international exposure/experience", or at the most, gain a draw. mahirap yang ganyang me laban pa, suko na leader ng team. anong klaseng morale mangyayari sa mga players natin, di ba?
i'd rather that he just simply accepted the losses without any excuses and vow to the filipino people, esp. the avid supporters like us, that they will go beyond what's best and give it their all as if they are playing for their lives like there's no tomorrow.
despite my utter dislike of how weiss has been handling our junior team, i still believe that our boys can do better than what they've shown us so far. i know they will bounce back and will never give up so i will do the same for them. i'll stay right here to support them, regardless if i will be the only one left.

just reading this in the philippine star : "“(Team manager) Dan Palami and (coach Michael) Weiss have the best of intentions. Dan spent to get the best (players from Europe). But football is teamwork. You can’t achieve it in three days or one week of practice,” said Philippine Olympic Committee (POC) chairman Monico Puentevella, also a member of the advisory council of the Philippine Football Federation (PFF). For this campaign, team management has assembled a combo of local-based players and pros plying their trade in Europe, like Roland Muller, Manny Ott, Jeffrey Christiaens and Carli de Murga. The Euro-based booters only joined the team in Indonesia already, in time for their first game. The U23 Azkals dropped a 1-3 loss to Vietnam and a 1-2 setback to darkhorse Timor Leste as their semifinal bid got dimmer each game day. “Our players in the under-23 are not short of talent. But to put them in the field to play as a team, you need more time of playing together,” observed Philippine Sports Commission chairman Richie Garcia. " What are they talking about ?? I know that some of those players where called in as early as july, wasted there one month, came back to europe, where recalled again beginning of september and stayed there until now . What did they do with them all that time?? Who's responsible for this ? What has happened ?? I know that only a few where brought with the azkals to the long teng cup, while i understood this was going to be a preparation tournament for the SEA games . Was reading also previous posts that they don't seem to be in shape ?? that in the first game the "jet-lagged" players performed even better ? How can that be ? Anyone has more information on this and on the training program for the ones staying in the philippines ? was there not said that a german coach was going to be available for them ? what happened with him ? is he in jakarta also ? i think , if this is not properly handled, there will be no future problem if we need to bring foreign based players in : under these conditions they probably will not even come anymore. who could blame them ? what a wasted opportunity ! and wasted time ! by the way who are those pro's they are talking about ? do they mean the ones playing in the local UFL competition ? i don't see anyone else .

you guys really expect too much from the team. jet lag takes like a a few days to go away. the locals are far behind when it comes to football IQ. little time training together. we cant really expect the foreign based players to compensate everything. it takes time to build a team. HIGH EXPECTATIONS only leads to disappointment.

^^ the true colors of ineffective management of the PFF and the POC is slowly going out...it is the problem of the philippine sport even way before....selection of player, training programs...sila sila tintira nila sarili nila....dyos miyo....hehehee

We're not "pinning our hopes" on the fil-foreigners. This isn't typical Filipino mentality where anything that comes from abroad is automatically better. People should be pragmatic enough to realize that the current level of local talent isn't good enough. And people should stop bringing up the jet lag, or at least stop magnifying it. It is what it is, that's the part of the risk/reward analysis in bringing foreign-based lads here.
