@tiggy salamat for the video. Can you imagine if Bob was like that? That would be great, as it is, it seems like the Vietnamese announcer enjoyed the game more than our own announcers.

for those who haven't seen the game its now playing on AKTV.. I'll be watching it again.. hehe.. by the way tombucho we were really lucky that we won the game.. if you watch the game it would really frustrate you coz the ball possession is really bad. but a win is win!!! and that's all that matters right now. hehe.

@wiking, in case you havent noticed, the guys here are not all on the same side..the fact there's a huge tagline "were the haters are silenced" says it all.. and oh, im not a sore winner. I havent even watched the game yet. But i was very happy when i read the news that the azkals won and how they won the game makes it much more satisfying. As I have always been saying in this forum, there's just too much expectations being put on this team, and even philippine football as a whole. We are soooo very very very very very far from where everyone expects us to be. So maybe we could give the team some slack and let them be. Unfortunately, we cannot "let them be" they have chosen to represent us, they've taken that responsibility. But if a coach is obviously lacking, the nation they represent WILL make noises. If a team member has a "prissy fit" the nation WILL make noises. Do you expect the nation to sit idly by while the team that represent them crumble into anonymity? What sport do you see where fans sit there and do not complain about a player that is not performing or a coach doing the same? This is why the rest of us are here. Because we are fans and care about the team. This is a FORUM where people do argue (hopefully in a MATURE MANNER) you should accept that or perhaps this is not a place you should be? btw, when I said we are all on the same side, I meant we root for the U23 team. Although obviously we have different levels of contentment with coach, players and tactics, BUT we are all still rooting for the team. @wiking, maicon and pique are not the azkals defenders. Our forward is not messi. . And they are coached by Weiss and not by mourinho. In simple terms, they are playing with the available "talent ( )" and little coaching knowledge that they have. The so-called analysts here think we are the brazilians. There's a reason why the azkals are ranked 100++ and thats because thats what their skill level shows.Maybe in 2-3 years time, if philippine football continues to develop, you can raise again all the points you have pointed out. But as of this time, you are just barking at the wrong tree..

watching the reply now... Basa is a natural defender but is he a left back? that was the side Laos had most success even scoring a goal from a cross in that area...
Isn't Beloya part of that team that won the u23 suzuki cup in the Philippines?

You just got to love this game. This is why football is the beautiful game, to experience moments like these. Fantastic! The boys needed a win, and the manner by which they won - snatching victory from the jaws of defeat at the last moment while playing with one man down for almost half an hour, is a big boost for the boys. Congratulations!
To be objective about it, there's still a lot of work to be done. Laos outplayed our team and probably deserved the win, but unfortunately for Laos THIS IS FOOTBALL where the best team doesn't win all the time. Yeah, I'm going to savor this moment, the team and the players deserved this one. A lot can be said about the tactics, the defense, the over-reliance on the long ball but screw all that for now because they can work on those issues, this is a young team. What is important right now is that the players out there showed that they got heart and passion. They never gave up and believed they could win it. You can't develop that in the training ground. It's good to know that those players out there got the right stuff and I'm happy about that. These guys just showed us they got promise and potential, just a matter of giving them further opportunity to work together and gain needed experience and exposure.

The long ball if passed perfectly is a good tactic for a not so prepared team like our u23 team... perfect example is the winning goal of Beloya... Great Long ball pass by Mark Hartman...

It seems Mark Hartmann played inspired and made a big statement on this game; Never ever write him off. He is a talented lad, good as a second striker and with the right mind and focus he will be one of the pillars of our future Azkals.
BTW, nice line-up strikeron. I'll put Mark H instead of Valmayor in the starting XI.
