Etheridge will be signing an extension with Fulham. I guess he feels that he's getting closer to being the Cottager's #1. The original plan with Ochoa was to loan him from Club America since Schwarzer will be playing in the AFC (accdg to goal.com). But America and Ochoa's agent doesn't want a loan spell. wala lang. share ko lang Schwarzer might be transferred at the end of the season since Fulham has some financial problems. This is a good sign for Neil,1st team. But I hope he still gets a go signal when azkals needs him. Fulham is good when it comes to their players playing for the national team, they dont have that problem.

this might be why he wants to stick with fulham. if that team wasn't really strict with loaning their players with the national team. then, no problem with our national team. but i doubt that he'll be put as a first choice goaly at his age right now.

getting promoted as Fulham's 3rd choice keepers over Pascal Zuberbühler is already a big accomplishment at his age considering Pascal used to represent Switzerland at senior level.

I hope they will stay to PH national team. Coz I've heard they want PHtoo have a professional league someday.
I'm so selfish.. hahaha.. well, it's good if they will remain with their euro clubs not in asia coz their clubs are so nice in letting this guys to play with the azkals.

This from the Fulham FC site. ====================
... Hughes has studied Australia's group in the Asian Cup and expects the Socceroos to reach the final stages of the competition, meaning Stockdale will be backed up by Fulham Academy Graduate Neil Etheridge.
“Mark's absence is dependent on how successful Australia are in the Asia Cup," Hughes explained. "I’m sure they’ll reach the latter stages of the competition so we’re looking at three to four weeks I would suggest.
“Obviously it’s a big loss losing Mark but David did really well when he came in at the beginning of the season and there’s no reason why he can’t do the same again.
“We’ve got Neil Etheridge who’s been away on international duty and picked up some really good experience, so we’re comfortable with the situation and that we have adequate cover.”
... =================
Congratulations Neil!
Looks like he is Fulham's bona fide #3 gk. While Schwarzer is away for the AFC Challenge Cup this month, we can expect to see Neil on the bench for a few of the games. This is a big deal! Note that the news report mentions the experience he picked up while playing in the AFF Suzuki Cup.

Let's hope he gets a chance. It's bad to wish injury to someone but I just hope he gets an opportunity.

Neil's easily the best `keeper who plays for an Asian team, and I hope he can make the numbee one jersey at Fulhan his own. His profile has been rising because of his great performance in the Suzuki Cup. Hope he gets his debut for Fulham soon.

Hope Mark Hughes would give Neil the chance to play in the FA Cup game against Peterborough on the 8th instead of Stockdale.
