Maybe he just doesn't like his current club.
It seems to me that he has never had any "attitude problems" until he signed with Persiba Balikpapan. or am I mistaken?

The Germans consider discipline as an important trait when choosing players for the national team. In general, if you have disciplinary issues with your club, they will not call you up. That is how one of the Boateng brothers(Prince) ended up with Ghana inspite of initially being part of the youth setup in Germany. Coach Weiss being German, I think would do the same.

I think that Boateng is the reason why Ballack got injured and missed the World Cup,that happend when they played for their club teams. People dont want him on the team for doing that. Not 100% sure about this thou.hahaha

You are talking about senior level when Prince Boateng was already with Ghana. He was kicked out of the German youth teams because of disciplinary issues a long time ago and never called up again so he decided to play for Ghana. His personality just doesn't fit with the Germans.

Weiss explained in a recent interview that De Jong signed for that indo club and suddenly thought he was a star and so on. Im feeling there might be a misunderstanding somewhere as his club is paying him big bucks and might not always allow him to play for the national team unless they have reason to. Weiss also said it doesnt matter coz he got better players in Ott and Lucena. Ive seen Ott play with Jason De Jong, and to be hones, i wasnt impressed with any of them.

You are referring to this excerpt from Spox:
SPOX: They drew first consequences ready and threw the 21-year-old Jason de Jong a talented midfielder from the team that has at least played in the second Belgian league.
White: It was not thrown out, but a disciplinary decision. Jason has switched to a club in Indonesia, finds itself seems really great and thinks he is already a star. He was suddenly no longer reach me and has not canceled even if he could not come to an appointment. No idea what a player thinks so. I'm not too concerned me, however, with Ingolstadt's Manuel Ott and Jerry Lucena, who has contested nearly 300 games in the Danish first division, I have already have better players at his position in central midfield.
______________________
Apparently the problem is that he stopped communicating with the national team so they don't know what his situation with his club. This is too bad as he badly needs advice on how to act as a professional. Now that the team has alternatives at defensive midfield, he is no longer a priority with the Azkals although apparently Dan Palami is willing to give him a chance.

BTW Mikeh, In that same article there was a little advert by SPOX that might be helpful for you as Spox has the ear of Coach Weiss: "This is associated with a call to all Filipinos Europe, the higher class and play football on the national team are interested: Write to philippinen@spox.com an email SPOX is her contact with the Association of the" You might have to communicate in German though.

www.malaya.com.ph/apr27/sports5.htmlPalami also said Fil-Dutch midfielder Jason De Jong is welcome to train with the squad, but his return to the final lineup will depend on Azkals coach Michael Weiss. De Jong got the ire of Weiss because of his unexplained absence in the 2nd leg of the AFC Challenge Cup pre-qualifying match against Mongolia and the qualifying games in Myanmar. "He apologized for not being able to play and said it was because he just signed a new contract with his club," Palami said of De Jong who plays for Persiba Balikpapan in the Indonesian Super League.
