Slightly out of topic: Are they links to the full match? Wish to watch the 2nd half of the game again. try kombatsero.tk..register 1st.. Thanks! I just watched the game again. It was #10 who got 2 yellow cards already right? Tama ba nakita ko? And supposed to be out of the game. The last yellow card he got was the elbow to Juani.

I Think Philippines must play tough for the next two games and don't loose focus, Refs are coming to bring our NT down expect some non call's again and again. Azkals may not get a Win but atleast they played without any issues regarding the officiating within the tournament. I Am looking forward to see our boys on Top of these National Teams maybe here in Suzuki Cup or in the future, I Feel Coach Weiss whether he intended to Hit that THAI player or not. The game really sucks and frustrating until the goal from Mulders came. Some of our Players looses their focus within the game, where in they tend to go on their own, but I Still Believed (=

I am a newbie in this forum but i have been reading this thread for a long time now and have been following the national theme ever since their 2010 suzuki cup run ... i just want to share my opinion regarding last night's match, the team and coach... - The team certainly showed good composure during the first 20 mins of the game, but when their physical strength were tested (as the Thais started to use their muay thai skills head butting phil and using their elbows and knees that knocked lucena down) different azkals was seen.. lots of missed possessions and poor ball passing.. the thais dictated the pace of the game. I think our boys were not used to play against a team that uses dirty tactics.. just what also happened to their game against Laos, where they also lost even though schrock and etheridge was there.. thank God FIFA invalidated that game.. they must be not just physically but also mentally and emotionally prepared for these poorly and disgusting dirty tactics kind of play as that is what most of Southeast asian nation shows (just like their game against indonesia last AFF semis).. clearly the stupid refs are not on our side and not even fair at all.. i don't want our players to be as dirty-non-class as other SEA nations but this kind of games should not loose their focus and composure -phil is a marked man in this cup.. and he's vulnerable in the field.. he's our no.1 striker however he's not as tough as angel.. there's a time where the ball was easily dispossessed from him as he stumbles to the ground but no foul was called. I remember a lot of this scenario also happened to him last cup.. he needs to be tougher, stronger, if he could only be as tough as cagara or angel.. -angel was off last night.. he was fast but doesn't gel well with the rest of the team.. lots of turnovers between him and james whose presence in the field was gone when his brother was sent out of the pitch.. -the 2 goals were disheartening.. the 1st goal was poorly handled by the back four... they were all in the box & no one is marking the man in red.. and they were all just standing in front of him..we should have stopped that ball.. that goal lost the composure of the team.. causing another goal just 2-3 mins from the first one.. replays of that goal is painful to watch... - emotionally, i can not blame coach weiss for what he did (unintentionally or not) against the overacting (buti nga sa yo manunuhod k pa eh.. ha ano...) thai player.. That #11 is s***.. Sorry na lang Cagara is tough and he wasn't able to beat him down unlike what happened to lucena.. that f******* thai player should be given a red card.. but since the japanese ref is stupid and not on our side, as expected no calls were made.. but as a coach he should have chose to behave properly, it was a rude gesture coming from a coach... but as a fan that thai player just deserved it... baka hindi lang bote iitacha ko s kanya.. lol.. -we're still not good in long ball passing.. we can only do two things about it.. do not do it or improved on it.. -but infaireness to the thai team they were clearly the better team in last night's match.. but we know azkals could have done better and they are better than what they showed last night.. i just hope and pray that they will win against vietnam and myanmar.. BELIEVE!!!

its plainly clear that Thailand did not underestimate the azkals. They did their homework. they knew exactly what had to be done and they executed. I have no second thoughts in respecting a superior opponent . Its just a shame that Thailand had to resort to a lot of dirty tactics. they would still have won, probably, even without all the elbows, knees, high boots, flops and time wasting. add to that the referees were also in their favor. They won the game, the 3 points but not my respect. they were really that desperate to beat the azkals so they pulled out all the stops. such a shame for such a talented team. the sad thing is we have to root for them to also beat myanmar and vietnam to improve our chances of advancing.
go thailand! go war elephants! hope to see more of those elbows and knees in action.

Was it only me who didn't mind the chippiness and simulation? They were at their home turf, playing with a lead. It is what it is. If they feel they have to do that to beat us, good for them. No point in whining how they cheated or acted, by default you know that if they got the lead they would do that. So why complain?

I think this game will change their approach on the vietnam match, they should review this game and look for their mistakes, and to be a little more optimistic with our team, usually in tournaments so many teams really plays bad on their opening games( see previous WC, Spain played below their capacity in the opening game drawing Italy in their opening match, last suzuki cup malaysia also lost their first game and went on to win the cup) then continue on the become a stronger team in the course of the tournament. (curiously enough, both world cup and suzuki cup finalist were at the same group). If we could beat vietnam on tuesday we have a big chance advancing in the semis specially if the thais beat myanmar. For the vietnam match, We should sit out caligdong and maybe also Pyh and Jyh just like in the last singapore friendly that might caught the Viets off guard since we know they are expecting these guys to start and part of their game plan is on how to neutralize them and become in effective, then sub them brothers in at the remaining 30. We can still do this, let's re group and win the last two games, coz if we will meet the thais again ( and that would be already in the finals) we can easily (but still a hard fough game) beat them on both legs.

Thailand was clearly the better team. There was no need for silly antics but it is what it is. The officiating was questionable but can't really do anything but respect it. Thailand busted two of our players open, blood gushing from their faces, with no red card? Come on now. Anyways, time to regroup and move on. I missed the spark from Wolf's energetic play and Omphroy's pace would have helped too. I thought Jonsson did better than I thought he would but he really seemed out of his comfort zone. De Murga or Omphroy could have made a bit of difference. We lost FIFA points due to Thailand being ranked lower. We've gotta win the next two.

Guys check this thai training video: especially 1:27-1:30.
its the EXACT SAME PLAY they made to score the first goal. I thought Weiss scouted the Thais very well?? it is so disheartening to see the Thais execute the first goal when that specific play was out in cyberspace for public viewing and scouting. wow.

Is this Thaifootball we are watching damn.... we can call it muaythaifootball, kulang nalang yung knee sa mukha...
Anyway Thailand deserve the win and we can see how fast their forward in the right flank, totally out classed our defense team
We can still play better then last night i believe... I hope we can win on next game with vietnam

Mga kabayan, mainit lang siguro ulo natin dahil natalo tayo kanina ... at ok lang yan ... normal reaction sa mga supporters ... Pero, sa tingin ko, the score was justified ... since the azkals have gone up, this is the first time we played the "kicking" thais ... ok talo tayo ngayon ... next lang kayo ... next game natin, vietnam ... i am looking forward to a meaner azkals ... gamewise today... here's my view: gk - ed played about 5.5 to about 6 on 1-10 rating at 10 highest. back 4 - juani I only noticed after getting the elbow; jonsson was his usual work rate, no I cannot replace hime with anyone; rob gier frankly not much seen of him; cagara was VERY SOLID. Holding Mid - lucena was good; mulders was at his very efficient work rate; wings - chieffy showed his age; sub christaens should be starting. JYH should be starting if not complaining too much; forwards - angel dribbles/holds the ball too much-quicker on the release should make it quicker for the team to move forward; PYH - quality still there, butI wonder if toomuch marking makes sense for himto sub in and change the game the way he has been played in singapore and other games. Subs - christaens played solidly and has argument to start in place of chieffy; marwin - no difference against PYH to me; angel off might be better; reichelt - VERY strong argument to start. Go Azkals - beat Vietnam!!! Nope. Jonsson is replaceable with Omphroy or De Murga at right back. first of all, he is more comfy at the left back yeah? and, the latter players will perform better at that position. i dont trust jonsson not even a penny at our defense line.

quote Ouch, tough game. I thought we would be tied through much of the game until Thailand pulled out a late winner. While the approach was different than I thought, the final score was the same as I predicted... in truth I thought we would play much better than we did. unquote ==> azkalfutboleros... please calm down. saw the whole match. was referring back to my original prediction which u can find on another post where i said i thot the match wud be tied with a late winner by thailand. apologies if my post confused you but maybe if you showed a bit more patience before jumping on another posters comment you wouldn't be shown so wrong No problemo mate, we are all in the same page. guess i was a little bit confused.
